Franchitti being replaced?
I heard a statement made by one of the commentators on the last ALMS race that Franchitti might not start the next race -- Does anyone else have any information regarding this?

Well what with the IRL season ending this weekend and PLM a month away, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kanaan in that seat, what with AGR taking the Acura to the Mil Milhas on his request. He could probably use the seat time, and as long as Herta stays it shouldn't harm the team from a championship perspective if Marino were to stand down for a race or two.

I think they're implying that Dario will take Marino's place at Petit Le Mans.

Line him up alongside his brother, but replacing? I'm not sure Dario is up for that.

Ya, I was thinking that Petit would be where we got to see them in the car together with Herta and then maybe give Tony some time at Laguna or testing somewhere.

There are also rumors of Dario going to ALMS next season - is it possible they would run Dario with Herta to help Dario decide if he wants to make the switch to ALMS next season???

Well slightly off topic but; I just heard on Speed at the Richmond "Q" show that the "word is" that Dario will do limited Busch and ARCA races after the IRL season with CGR and possibly be fulltime with them in cup next year and that Stremme, current driver in the CGR#40, will not be re-signed for next due to lack of sponsorship.

Sounds a bit like everything ends up sounding in sportscar racing- a bloody great farce.
