Stressed engine question?
Much has been made about the negatives of the Daytona Prototype concept, and one thing brought up is the use of the engine being used as a stressed member of the chassis.
While I am hardly a DP fan, I remember hearing that the MKIII didn't have a stressed engine. I can't confirm or deny that, but it wasn't the stressed engine alone that made me not like DP, it was everything pilled on top of it. Anyway, was the MKIII, or any version of it, using a "craddled" engine rather than stressed? |

eh? who ever said that is right though, a production shouldnt be used a stressed member. the block was not built to take that stess pure and simple.
the mkIII used a carbon fibre tub and steel tubes to craddle the engine, the auto exe also used steel tubes. but, the r8, exp speed 8, gt-one, etc have used stressed engines. the R8R didnt not iirc. |

I don't know if that's how the engine is installed, but it looks like it is sitting in a fame that's built around it... |
