Paul Taylor's new job
From the CAMS WEBSITE
One of Australia's leading motor sport technical experts, Paul Taylor, has been appointed by the world governing motor sport body, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), to undertake a review of the World Rally Championship (WRC) technical regulations. An employee of TEGA (Touringcar Entrants Group of Australia), Taylor is well known in Australian motor sport circles as the Category Technical Director for the V8 Supercar Championship Series where he has been responsible for the management and ongoing development of the technical regulations for the category over the past five years. According to CAMS' Chief Executive Officer Dr Rob Nethercote, the appointment of another Australian to a significant FIA role reinforces Australia's reputation as a world leader in the regulation of motor sport. "For a nation of only 20 million people located so far away from the traditional seat of motor sporting power, the number of Australians represented at FIA level is a credit to the sport here. It is fantastic to see Paul's skills recognised internationally and we wish him all the best in the role." CAMS' Director of Racing Operations and V8 Supercar Race Director, Tim Schenken, also praised the appointment. "Paul's working relationship with CAMS over recent years to bring the V8 Supercar technical regulations up to an international standard has been exceptional, particularly with those aspects relating to safety. This most recent appointment is indicative of the high regard in which Paul is held in the Australian motor sport community." Taylor heads over to Europe this week to take up the consultancy role. Congratulations Paul, and best of luck |
