Carl Long
gotta feel sorry for this young guy after the Rock bit him hard on the weekend.
according to the TV coverage I saw Long checked the entries for the race and saw that there wasnt many so he decidied to rush together his car and get to the Rock. he paid for everything himself and was using two year old penske engines that needed a freshen up big time , but he was just happy to be there I guess and driving in the Nascar series. It all turned sour for him when he got caught up with Joe Nemecheck and young rookie brendan Gaughan and was turned into the wall and managed to barrel roll down the back straight 5 and a half times. was a scary crash but a great relief to see him get out unhurt , but you gotta admire his efforts after even borrowing a set of tyres from someone else he still has a smile on his face. it's sad to see a racers dream end up this way because now it looks like he wont be driving for a while but at least he managed to get a fair bit of exposure for the accident and who knows hopefully he may just pick up a sponsor out of all of this. Good luck to Carl in his racing efforts and I hope he manages to get back on track in the near future. www.nascar.com have a write up for him if you want to go check that out or head over to his personal website at www.carl-long.com and see what he is all about. Go get em Carl |

It would be cool to see Carl Long get a ride. I don't think he's ever had the chance to show his potential in a race car. He didn't even start the wreck that took him out of the race and destroyed his only car. He seems to be a pretty nice guy who actually enjoys racing. Hopefully the accident will turn out to be beneficial to him.

The wreck did have a benefit to Carl. He's going to drive the #02 SCORE Motorsports Pontiac at Las Vegas. The car's owned by Hermie Sadler. Hopefully he can pull a good finish out of the race and get to run some more races this year. I also just remembered that Carl Long has won a NASCAR event. Back when he drove for Mansion Motorsports he was also the teams hauler driver, and he won the race they have for the hauler drivers.
