Wow, I'm impressed
Jim Edwards was 4th in the sprint race and in the feature race we had Jim 2nd and Peter 3rd. Lets hope we get some decent proddie coverage on the TV next weekend!!!

*giggle*

Well I have to apologise to Peter for not knowing who he was when he kindly offered to sign my B&Q hat

And also to thank him for being one of the few production car drivers to wave as he came past (in fairness, most of the BTCC boys gave us a wave!)

As I was at the back of the circuit, I wasn't really able to keep track of who was winning so I'm really glad they did well!

Thanks everyone!

On behalf of the team, John, Jim and myself, just have to say !THANK YOU! for the fantastic reception at Mondello!!! We had a great weekend (did you know the rain tastes of champagne there?!) but the support all weekend was unbelievable!

It's an incredible circuit to try to learn in a couple of Free Practice sessions and very unforgiving as Annie T found when her throttle stuck open - she's ok by the way but sore from whiplash

Personally, it was a real sickener for me running second in the Sprint when the brakes packed up (not ideal when the circuits full of hairpins) - would have been an easy podium especially considering Simon and Fullalove both crashed out. But our Feature 2-3 made up for that!

I think we can safely say Team B&Q Jet York City Racing have arrived!

Was it her throttle? From where I was standing (pretty close...) it looked as though she managed to get rid of a fair bit of speed and went into the bank with the wheels straight and brakes locked.

I'm glad she's OK and I heard she was back on circuit on the Sunday, so that's always a good sign.

Annie told me the telemetry showed the throttle wide open. As for locked brakes, I'm sure she had both feet on the middle pedal - not much else a driver can do with the earth banks that close!

I'm glad you enjoyed it hon

However, I would like to lodge a complaint - I was standing out in the rain all day on Sunday and it didn't taste like champagne for me - did you guys get some kind of TOCA VIP rain?

I did aim some over to the back of the circuit but I guess it didn't reach you!!

I'll ask Westie to fit champagne cannons to the podium truck to ensure equal distribution around the circuit! It was a shame we didn't get a chance to do a lap on the podium truck to see you all, but apparently we ran out of time

I didn't doubt it was the throttle, my question was more in the form of an exclamation than doubt

Given the speed she came off the track it's a testament to the car builders that she didn't suffer more serious injuries.

She wasn't the first visitor to that bit of bank that weekend, one of the Astons went in at almost exactly the same spot on the Friday.

Oh, and if you're reading this, sorry Annie, but I wasn't going to let you take your helmet off unless it was obstructing your airways, I didn't want to risk you moving your neck too much until it had been assessed.

oh did we ever - it was actually a bit of an issue with some of us as they put out the safety car DURING the RT2000 race to allow some of the BTCC boys to leave. I think we finally got off circuit at around 6:30/7pm.

I haven't seen any other reactions to that one yet, but I imagine that if you were racing and the safety car was put out simply to allow people to leave the circuit, you'd be pretty unhappy about it - I don't imagine the RT boys are going to feel any differently!

I don't know who it was that was leaving or whether they were aware of what had to be done to facilitate letting them out though.

I really enjoyed the sprint race - the longer race was marred by so many safety car sessions - I was flagging and my arms were pretty much falling off by the end! But the racing was great when it was happening!

The Legends and the Historics were WAY cool as well!

They should have mandated that all teams must stay and party on Sunday night! Ours did anyway! - shame I had to miss it to get back to work...speaking of which, I'd better do some!

we partied as well - just in Naas.

excellent result and after Jim was telling us the car wasn't working that well and it was down on power. OK we thought - just go out and finish and grab some points.

2nd - I am not listening to you any more Jim

and as for John - how many fags would you have got through there?

She was sitting out on the outside of HP for the feature. Still very sore and very bruised from the seatbelts digging in. Even if the car could have been fixed, which wasn't even a remote possiblily, the doctor wouldn't have let her race. Biggest shame was that she had been doing pretty well up to that point and was hoping for a wet race where the car should have been good in.

Hopefully car and driver will be patched up and ready to go in time for Croft.

Annie was very lucky there - no neck brace but a horrible set of bruises from the belts but as she says - 'got to be worse than that to hold me back'. What really upset her was that she had qualified 5th and in the wet she would have really capitalised on that.

Well better safe than sorry - it was a hell of a shunt - in case you didn't know, MagnetON was the attending marshal and she landed pretty much at his feet - we're all delighted she's ok.

uh oh...domestic....can we talk about touring cars again now!?

I am interested to know what other people think of a race being put under safety car just to allow some TOCA officials to cross the track so they didn't get to the airport late. The race in question had 2 green flag laps and was only a 15 (I think - I don't have my programme with me) lapper - RTs lap Mondello in just under to just over a minute - so the longest it was likely to take barring incidents was 20 minutes.

Is this considered acceptable practice in the UK?

Congrats to B&Q. Stars of the day! And with Muller actually finishing a race AND winning it in the feature - it certainly was a happy day

Shame about Annie and Colin Turkington

That's a farce about those officials crossing the track IMO, if I was one of the drivers in that race and had pulled out a big lead I would not be happy at that.

I have never heard of anything like that happening in the UK, EP. I don't think it would be allowed to happen. The racing only gets SC'd for driver's dangerous incidents, earthquakes, holocausts... you know, the usual
