Well done Mark on winning the event after so many false starts in 2001 and also on the RAC,I spoke to him yesterday and he was very down after roolling on SS 4 but he charged back in typical fashion, good result for Johnny
and also Tapio in Grp N and the MG of Gwyndaf didn't break
and won it's class.
Let's hope Ford stay with the championship and it looks good for the future.

Wats the "K16" Class exactly? because I know "S16" stands for super 1600

Too true; come on M-sport; it's got to be worth it. Great news for Mark after all the frustrations of 2001

K16 cars are S1600 cars homologated by the FIA in 2001, whereas the S16 cars are homologated by the FIA in 2002. There must be some rule changes between this year and last. Any ideas folks?

I've heard on CEEFAX that Mark Higgins Drive was down to the sponsors sorting him out with the Ford Focuc WRC and that he's not doing a full year, although I hope it's not true because he's been waiting 5 years since he won the BRC in the Nissan Almera to prove his worth in a WRC and I think that it's time for him to get that chance.

As provider of the Toyota Corolla WRC for Jonny Milner ( my money , not Toyota's ! ) I would just like to let you know that Jonny was under STRICT instructions to bring it home undamaged and think of the championship not just this rally !Nonetheless , Mark and Jonny drove superbly and I would like to congratulate them both .
As most of you know , Jonny and Mark are great friends (Mark best man at Jonny's wedding etc ), as well as great rivals .
I understand that Mark may return to BRC later in the year , in which case Jonny will be instructed to go flat out ( just like they both did in the junior championship 11 years ago ).That should make good watching .
This year looks like being a good year for privately funded drivers , and I hope the competition remains close . We would all like to see M Sport et al entering the BRC , but it clearly needs more than one manufacturer otherwise it would be one sided and boring .
I believe Mark was driving a 99 spec Focus on a private budget , similar to Jonny's position - which makes their performances all the more creditable .
Finally , I would like to thank Pirelli for working hard to make the 2002 BRC a success.I hope your subscribers enjoy the action !

Well done Duncan I'm surprised your'e still running Toyotas for Jonny after the fire on Jim Clark in the Celica, but just
redaing the newsletter from Rally of Wales theyr;e saying that Mitsubushi are to enter with a young Japanese driver.
It would be a shame to lose Mark with especially Marcus Dodd
doubtful after his big off,we need Pirelli to help Mark on the Rally of Wales although they are already helping Alistair Ginley in Grp N.
But fair play Jonny was flying on the Astra and Pirelli and
he deserves a break after his hard work.
