Welcome back PT
He brings excitement, speed, competition and a good quote or two usually with some controversy.. This is so good for the 500 and so welcome back PT.

He'll get in today, but he has got a lot work to do to get up to speed for the 500, but can't, due to the fact that he is on a 1-week "Short Month" deal...He can't put too many miles on his engine (600 max before the race itself), thus he'll have very little laps available for working on race setups, making a full tank run, etc.
He is a longshot at best to drink milk on Race Day. |

I was surprised when Tracy withdrew a safe position in the field and re-qualified - a gamble that paid off for him.
He would have a good shot with one of the stronger teams this year, but I think a victory is doubtful under the circumstances. |

Vasser just said KV should have some "exciting news" in a week or so about PT doing some more races later in the summer...

I think the biggest thing you guys are over looking is the cars have seriously changes like 0% since the last time he raced in the INDY 500. It's not his first time on an oval, or his first time at Indy, he's not washed up like Al Unser Jr, I seriously think he will be running in the top 10 during the race.
If the cars had changed a some what since the last time he raced then I could see him having a difficult time setting up the car in time for the race. I think the only thing that will keep him from winning is the fact that he not driving for a huge team. |

Hopefully, the data that his full-time teammate, Moraes, has learned can help him on Race Day...They took maybe one Full-tank run and did very little race set-up on his car...
It is tough to compete with the top teams when they have logged many, many laps between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. (race time) in practice sessions that had a variety of weather conditions... It is supposed to be warm here on Sunday (80 F) and PT has no track time with those conditions...many other full-month drivers do... Does he still have the chops to do well? Sure he does... But does he have enough info for setups to get to Victory Lane? Not so sure that he does, at least compared to the full-month drivers and engineers. |

great news. Will be looking forward to seeing how he does. A better car than KV racing, I presume so even more chances to do well.

KV and Foyt both put out adequate machinery, but I'd say KV are a better long-term prospect, if they can get a package together to run a decent driver full-season. Either way, it's good for Paul to have a chance to run this series full-time for a while - if he really struggles we can say it's time for him to give up or focus on sportscars.

I think this will be a race-to-race deal for PT...
In fact, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that AJ Foyt IV wll be in the car at Texas, since it is his "Home" race... PT for Milwaukee was a great choice for Foyt to make...PT has always been good at the Milwaukee Mile. |
