French Grand Prix Qualifying - JPM does it AGAIN!
Quote:
- Neither Arrows qualified, they were a long way short - Fisichella did not attempt to qualify - Yoong did make the cut, but 2 secs slower than Webber - Renault clearly 4th best team - Big improvement for Jaguar - Kimi Raikkonen 4th quickest, amazing - Toyota VERY slow - Bridgestone and Michelin both doing well |

The coverage we get in Australia is really giving me the sh@ts when you have to follow sessions like this on the internet - and we only have to wait until after the golf tomorrow to watch the race! - can anyone tell me what happened to Webber - only two runs, the second I think in the spare. BTW, for a bloke supposed to the best since Senna, in the best car by far, he must be getting sick of JPM giving him a touch up in qualifying

How good is JPM? One has to consider that not only is he faster than Ralf by nearly half a second, but he outqualified both Ferraris, which I reckon are much faster cars than the Williams.
Give Alex a break , he qualified didn't he? It would be interesting where Mark would have ended up if his car didn't break down. Damn!! Valve Last edited by Valve Bounce; 20 Jul 2002 at 12:21. |

Button proves that Flavio is utterly wrong in ditching him in preference to Trulli.
I've ALWAYS said Irvine is the most underrated driver on the grid. DC is consistently useless. Monty is god! |

Rick, try fosagold.org, they have streaming video of F1 - I am on dialup, yet can get a frame every 2-4 seconds, still useful.

That was a great qualifying session, and I'm not surprised in the slightest that JPM did it again. He really is the king of qualifying!
Great to see that Jaguar have finally found some speed when it matters. |

Once again JPM produced a miracle lap out of no where to clinch pole. He is definitely the fastest driver on grid. TGF has lost the edge.

such a shame Arrows won't be racing but at least they did what they have to, to race at Hockenheim, a sure sign that theyre not going down without a fight!

You have to give the man credit - he's driving brilliantly in qualifying. He's certainly done better than Ralf in qualifying - but I think Ralf will come back strong.
I do think its important for Montoya to win a race quickly - 6 poles this season and no win to show for it has got to affect his confidence somewhere down the road.. Great job by Kimi too... Btw Im predicting some sort of an incident b/w the top 6 in the first corner tomorrow |

Another fantastic qualifying duel between JPM and the Schu. Rubens had no answer while Ralf is looking pathetic, considering he is paid double what JPM is. And to be outqualified by Kimi.........
Renault are basically cementing their position as fourth best team while Sauber have slipped down, with Nick only just scraping into the top 10. Toyota had a shocker while the Honda teams had their own private battle. Sensational from Jaguar as they managed to escape the rear of the grid..... |
