V8 Supercar Chassis Histories

Hi all,
As you may or may not know, one of my jobs in every V8 Supercar season is tracing just who has what V8 Supercar chassis, where it's been, who has it and where it is now and everything in between. With well over 200 V8 Supercars having been constructed, there's a few holes (but not many) in my research simply due to the massive exercise that it is to keep a track on things.
If there's anyone on Ten-Tenths who can provide me with any leads, particularly on the older cars now not allowed in V8 racing (VS/VP Commodores and EB/EF/EL Falcons), I'd greatly appreciate it. Now that those cars aren't racing, it's hard to keep a track without them rocking up to any race tracks. There's a few specific chassis I have lost so may post them here in the next few days.
If there's anyone with a question on V8 bits and pieces, maybe we can swap some info.I'm also interested in getting in touch with anybody who knows someone with an older car (or later model) that can provide any info that may fill some holes. I can be emailed - an1media@bigpond.com if anyone has any ideas or suggestions or info.
Look forward to hearing from all the Ten-Tenthers out there.
Cheers,

Aaron Noonan

Is there somewhere (i.e. a website or book) where you have the history of the chassis' tabled...

Would love to just 'browse' through and see where cars ended up, who raced them with what results etc etc (i.e. the infamous 'Bar' car from HRT was a fairly succesful car...)

Cheers

To answer your question lcfp, I don't have a list as such, rather a full history of each car documented in a written up format rather than a spreadsheet - if you have an yspecific questions, drop me a note and I can help out.
The HRT bar car was destroyed in a shunt at Indy 1999 with Craig driving. I believe the shell sits in a corner of HSV somewhere - the plan was for it to be rebuilt as the 1996 Bathurst winner but it hasn't happened.

Isnt the 3 seater the Calder crash test dummy?

The more recent Great Race books have a pretty good description of what cars were from what background.

How far back are you looking? Some 3A logbooked cars have been in the system a while.

Exactly right bondy. The bar car started life in 1996 as a VR and was 'killed' as a VS at INdy in 1999. The VT ride car was Craig's 1999 car that rolled out. It is now a VY bodywork wise with a 5.7-litre engine and old Bridgestone tyres.
Thanks for the response everyone - keep them coming!
I am putting together a list of cars I have lost track of - stand by!

I'd like to see a website of this as well.

Big job I know but it would be good just to browse through and see where the different cars ended up and if any are rusting away in a paddock somewhere.

Good luck Noonz sorry i cant help but a great project to be involved in and one that many would be interested to find out about.

The Bottle Magic car was Ex Young lions (Gibson Motorsport)I believe.

Noonz
I would be interested in what you think happened to the Diet Coke car that Paul Morris crashed while testing at Lakeside before Bathurst.

I belive Alcair ended up with the Log book and running gear, the Chassis was then repaired and sat on the Gold Coast for some time, Kerry Baily ended up with it in some sort of deal and he sold it to the Ultra Tune team when Mick Donaher crashed there car at Bathurst while testing for the Amscar round that never happened.

Interested to know what anybody has on this matter????

There is an ex HRT Brock Commodore here in Auckland, and another Commodore also but I will have to find out it's history.

For a brief few weeks some years back, there were a pair of AU Falcons here too
