Mondello Park, without doubt. Not realy UK though.
Snetterton cafe gets the vote as most overpriced. |

Redgate Lodge, Donington. No question.
Good food (especially the roast pork) and a decent-ish selection of beer. Not too pricey, either. Don't know about getting ill at Snetterton, but I deeply regretted a lasagne at the Brands Hatch Kentagon a couple of years ago.... |

You're welcome!
Brands is the one venue I would seriously consider taking a packed lunch. As for me, this weekend is Goodwood, which means bacon rolls and camp coffee at the Spitfire Cafe. I can hardly wait! |

You missed the Champagne bar at Le Mans plus the Mulsanne straight bar. They have to be the best ever during a weekend in June.
Barring that the Bars at Brands are not to bad but the Redgate Lodge has to get the vote Simon |

I always rate Snet as the best cafe although its probably also the most expensive! Brands and Lydden, EURGH!!!! Mallory is to much of a greasy spoon and I have not got on with Donington since they closed both cafes at the meeting in August at 2pm!!!! Redgate Lodge was not bad though when I first ate there.

Haven't been there for some time so don't know if it's still the same but I'd heartily recomend the burger van at Prescott hillclimb. Proper burgers with all the extras, not the usual fast-food fare.

My best beer was at a motor race! Silverstone Historic festival a few years back. It was boiling day and we stopped in the paddock bar for refreshments. The cool Fosters that was served to us really hit the spot (I am a bitter drinker too).
Also there was a telly in there where we could watch the action. At Silverstone this was also an advantage! - the worlds worse spectator circuit! My second and third best beers were also at motor races! Oulton Park down near knickerbrook. The third doesn't count really because it was a can from a stall behind were I was sat. However it was just next to Eau-Rouge the first year I went to Spa. Hmmmm. I suppose that this is slightly of topic (?) Last edited by Adam43; 13 Sep 2001 at 08:10. |

CAstle Combe paddock cafe - always a pleasure to eat there - and its cheap - Snetterton is not bad at all but more expensive - Mallory paddock cafe is rather sad.....I've also had good inexpensive bacon & egg rolls from the cafe at Brands under the paddock hill stand altho the burger place in the inner paddock is less good

The only one I have been in is the cafe at Castle Combe. The food was ok, and someone even bought it for me.

I really like Donington, you can watch the racing in there on the circuit TV's aswell as having a pint or two.

As official 10 Tenths Alcohol Advice Monitor, I would like to nominate Redgate Lodge (the original building) as the best bar and the new bit which has been glued on the side as the best food/drink/seating establishment.

I like Redgate Lodge because it's location on way to Craners and Old Hairpin is very strategically placed!
I'll leave the monitoring bit up to Invader as undoubtedly he does it very well (years of practice!) |

Redgate Lodge. Very nice.
Ooooh the Mallory Park greasy spoon! We had the 'pleasure' of eating there at the Mini Festival... It's run by some demon matriarch who frequently barks orders at her staff, whilst acting all nice to her clientele. And the cleaning lady is a bit of a 'whirling dervish', to quote Invader. |
