Hillarious Video of Taki Inoue getting run over by Safety Car

THis quite possibley has to be the weirdest event ever in GP history.

Added to this in the past he has also had an accident with the Safety Car in the middle of a race at Brazil.

here it is anyway : http://www.members.atlasf1.com/alig/inoue.mpeg

Enjoy,

Niall

I didn't really mean that him getting hurt was the funny part.

But really, what was the chance of that happening.

Thankfully he only suffered medium bruising to his leg.

Could have been a lot worse.

Niall, I think you will discover that we don't tend to like this sort of thing....

Shall I move this to "Cool Sites" or the Trap?

On a serious note he should have looked before walking out in the path of that car, Inoue was a prat anyway!

Strange, but certainly not hilarious.

This is very strange - he was facing the safety car and just ran into it. I suppose there needs to be greater awareness of safety requirements on trackside.

i'm sorry

Thanks for the link Niall. I'm sorry to all those who find this clip unamusing, but being that i do posses a morbid sense of humor, i must say, Niall, the way he staggered and dropped seemed almost - well, comical. Situation aside, Inoue's "stage death" performance could do very well in a soap opera. Sorry if this offends anyone But hey, as long as he's ok now, right?

It is kinda funny though.

But rest assured that his injuries were no way serious.

If you think people getting run over is funny, much less hilarious, you have a sorry sense of humour. Many of us have seen pilots killed on the race track and we don't laugh about accidents.

It's weird, but not funny.

If he (Inoue) insists on walking in the path of moving cars then he deserves to get run over, you know the saying "Remember the green cross code"!

Liz, sorry to have offended you, but i don't think that those (including myself) who think the clip was funny, thought so because Inoue got run over by the safety car. but the irony must be appreciated in that he was hit by a SAFETY car. I might also like to add that injuries are never funny - if you only knew how many i've had. (I must say that i had to laugh - and actually did - at my last serious injury in which i was playing Ultimate frisbee and ran straight into a pole. 20 stitches on my right brow might have kept me from playing any more that afternoon, but it didn't keep me from laughing at how idiotic i was for running into the pole) In any case, the way Inoue staggered and fell was a bit too much for me to keep from smirking - at least a little bit.

Sorry Liz

The so-called 'driver' of that safety car should have his license yanked.

Poor taste or not. Noboby's mentioned the fire marshal who ran into the side of the car.

Now you are talking about the Fire marchall I have to say that it is looking to me that this Fire marchall was traying to get his bottle back from the driver is you look very good you will see it so this driver have brought some other people in danger in my opinion. just before the driver got the bottle you see that that marchall is looking to the safety car

Gads, you guys & gals are dense!

Rule #1 for a safety car driver is to not endange anyone when approaching a scene. That includes approaching at a reasonable speed & being observant of the acts and intents of those he/she is approaching.

Inoue is obviously focused on the fact that his multi-million $$$$$$ car is on fire & the so-called fire marshal is just standing there with his thumbs up his butt, letting it burn. Inoue has every right to go for the fire extinguisher to save the vehicle, and does so.

The safety car driver can obviously see their actions, and their intent, and should have had the brains to start slowing the car sooner, not drive the damned thing right into the midst of people who are focused on something else. But Noooooo! - he's gotta play that he's Senna & stop at the last second.

To drive a car fast into the midst of people moving around at the scene is the height of stupidity, and a great example of why I don't have much use for the majority of track marshalls.

Inoue hasn't a shread of fault in this one - it lays squarely on the safety car driver.
