Fred Saunders/Mermaid racing

Having been around when formula 5000 started
there were a number of one off cars around,
one being Fred Saunders Mermaid racing car
. I can not remember what the car was called,
but do recall it had a rover v8 engine.
Does this car exist still and did anyone else race it?
Can anyone tell me where the Leda f5000 car came from, was it built by anyone else under a different
name before or after?

Fred Saunders drove the Crosslé 15F. Brian Cocks raced it for a while in HSCC events, and Franz Nowak has it, I think

Check Allen Brown's excellent OldRacingcars.com for full details on this and the Ledas, Pete

Thanks Jeremy for the link, i had no idea that
Leda formed the basis for the Mcrae f5000 cars,
which i think are quite pleasing to the eye.
I believe the Crossle 15f used by Fred Saunders
had quite a vivid colour scheme if memory serves me right. Has anyone pictures of the original
mermaid car?.

Fred Saunders was earlier a Formula Vee racer/champion even?
The Leda was a Len Terry designed F5000 which came out of Malcolm Bridgeland's Malaya Garage driven amongst others by Mac Daghorn. Folk with proper info are hereabouts ...

Fred's Crosle was an unremarkable but pleasant enough blue and white when I saw it in 1971.
