If Australia used those cars we'd be a lot better off. It wouldn't be so much of a 'have' and 'have not' mantality. And you wouldn't need forty people in your pit on race day.

Jack,
Their hasn't been any reports of late. I believe they are both out of hospital, one with a broken ankle, and another with a pelvic injury. Nasty accident though aye? Lucky to walk away! |

Recently Australian Musclecar Mag has a very interesting story on the NZ V8's.
gjs.co.nz & Timu, how many races in the series and which tracks are used.Is there any passing and are the races close. Are the Pederson's brothers. Last edited by mickj; 27 Nov 2003 at 02:46. |

Hi Mickj,
Theres 7 races in the 2003/2004 season spread from one end of the country to the other. Here you can see the racing calendar/location's for this season: http://www.gjs.co.nz/calender.html Yes theres plently of passing and racing is close, depending on driver ability and your car setup. |

Greetings Timu,

Dont think i agree with you about the "Cheap" part. But if your comparing the V8 tourers to the Super Cars at $400,000 a piece then yes they are cheap. |

The Pedersons are no relation as far as i know. I think one of them is the son of a former racer of the 60's/70's, Garry Pederson. I think that is the case anyway.

6400 is the manz limit. They are a more a road car based race car most of the suspension retains the origal pic up points and arms they run a 4 speed richmond which is all they need 4 nz as they only have 400hp at the most. Almost all they parts are controlled and they cost from 80g up to build. Very good racing to watch and fun to work on. Motorsport nz need to keep a closer eye on some of the cars as cheats will soon rec the class.

Yeah, maybe "cheap" wasn't the right word, but in comparison to the fuel injection units, and hollinger boxes used in Aussie V8s then the real saying would be "cheaper" Good luck for the season mate, hopefully we'll see shifty on the podium some time! PS. Why do the NZ Commodores wear SV8 grilles? |

Timu,
Yep hope your right about the podium, that would be great. Did you know the VX holden is the newest model any team is allowed to run?, most teams have dressed there VX up to look like the VY and im guessing thats why they got the SV8 grills but dont quote me. |

Hi guys. Since I've seen gjs.co.nz put his toe's carefully into this forum, I'd thought I'd do the same. :-)
Here a home video of the t-bone crash at Pukekohe of Phil Stewart and Ashley Hall. http://www.theboss.co.nz/video_vault...97c46409fea2c3 Not to make to many waves but Hall should get a boot up the bum for that accident. Still plenty of other parts of a car to drive into that don't have a driver strapped behind.... |

That was a decent one. The strange part was the car going in the opposite direction on the other side of the gravel trap.

Was I mistaken or did Foggy seem to have a resonable speed advantage on the back straight at Puke?
Anyone? |
