Dov should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Latest PT Article

From the Star.com:

One thing Pat's crash may have done, though, is make him think twice about signing with the Indy Racing League as he seems to be on the verge of doing — especially because he has a wife and young child.
Quote:
Because the IRL is mainly raced on ovals, the speeds are consistently faster than in Champ Car. And one effect of racing at more than 300 km/h on ovals is that the crashes happen more frequently — and when they do, they are usually far worse than in Champ Car.
Quote:
I talked with Pat for a while about all this on the flight home to Las Vegas. As I told him, if he is going to sign with IRL, he'd better get used to having crashes worse than the one he just had — at least a couple each year.
Quote:
I don't know a single driver in that series who hasn't had a major injury. Though it may not affect them much now while they're in their 20s or 30s, when they're in their 50s the injuries that required them to have rods or pins put in their legs or backs will have a major impact on their lives.

the time limit on the Push to Pass button has been increased for this race. Tomorrow, we will have a total of three minutes to give our engines an extra 50 horsepower

Well if Pat goes its because he can only secure a pay drive and he dosn't dserve to drive in a tail end charlie team.

He has been offered drives in the IRL and if he chooses to go then its up to him.

But the bottom line is Patrick deserves a ride in ChampCar, he is a provern winner, a tittle challenger.

Yep, Pat knows the risks....being paid to race in a higher-risk enviroment (not a bash at the series, just a fact....oval racing=higher risk, greater amount of ovals=higher risk..) vs whatever work he'd have to do to secure a Champcar drive Vs retirement is a decision he's going to have to come to terms with very soon.

THREE MINUTES of push to pass??

Wow, I wonder if they're trying things out in preperation for next year....I guess if any engines go boom, they have 6 months to repair them!

But still, they're really going all out to ensure on-track action, thumbs up to them!

I may be wrong, but I don't think Push to Pass is all that hard on the engines considering the old power levels the same block designs have survived races distances. They've got 92 of them, so it doesn't really matter if they roast a couple.
