SFonseca should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Asiatech

Sometime ago, Autosport reported that asian boys were designing a new road car with a view to producing a GTS car for ACO/FIA regs. It will have a carbon chassis and has been in devolpment for 3 months. But Asiatech has pulled the plug on its Formula 1 programme - and that includes an ambitious plan to build its own car for 2004. The company has cited funding problems as the reason for its decision.
So Is the GTS project already dead??

I think that meant only the F1 plan was over, whether or not it included the GTS plans I don't know. No doubt some news will be out soon.

Asiatech were designing an LMP before switching to F1. Maybe the LMP is to be started up again along with the GTS. It will certainly cost a fraction of the cost of the F1 project.

Asiatech are really foolish... Get the money together _before_ you embark on such an ambitious project!

They're expecting to jump straight from rebuilding old Peugot V10s to being a boutique supercar manufacturer. Right....

Minardi's 2002 F1 engine supplier, Asiatech has closed down its factory in Velizy, near Paris, and laid off its 200 staff. A statement said: "Because of a lack of funds guaranteed for the continuation of its activity, Asia Motor Technologies France ceased its operations on October 31, 2002." The 2002 season was the second for the Asian-owned consortium after it entered F1 by purchasing the former Peugeot Sport hardware and development facilities.
Asiatech GT project is death. They pushed to a point of self-destruction
