Ineresting stuff, 55 cars entered, Scott Wimmer in RCR's #33 car got in, Mayfield in the #09 got in and of course Juan Montoya did fairly well.
the new Roush boys failing again, Ragan and Kluever, Ward and Mikey also the 'big names' to miss out. Should be a good race also Ambrose finished 27th in the truck race, ended up 3rd in ROTY standings and 21st overall. |

Looks like only two Toyota out of six teams will be in at Daytona by owners points and past champions provisionals. That should make qualifying interesting in February.

All action thus far! Kurt Busch has had a dreadful time and had a fairly big off.
The debris from his car put a hole in Jimmie Johnsons front end, it's been taped up. Lucky there wasn't more serious damage. Anyways, he dropped to last practically but has worked his way up to 19th place more or less. Great recovery....so far! Kenseth is running very strong, he is in position to pounce on any problems for Jimmie. Montoya running OK, Dale Jr bent his left front fender a little and it was rubbing on the tyre, but seems OK now. Dale then rubbed into JPM's teammate Casey Mears! |

Jesus christ, Dale is going.
During the American ad break, it went onboard with him and he sailed past Johnson like he had a problem. And he has proceeded to blast past four other cars in a couple of minutes. The car looks rock solid! |

Yeah, a shame that had to end he was on for a great finish.
The fuel cell ruptured in quite an emphatic way there. Could have been very nasty indeed. The car just went square backwards into the wall. Apparently he was hit by someone, but the replays tell you bugger all. |

Well Montoya seemed pretty upbeat about his performance. Most positive I've seen him.
I was well impressed with him, a pretty solid debut in a difficult series. Anyhow, looks like Jimmie has the title. But I bet he's building the nerves up during this red flag! |

Definitely.
To lose it now would be dreadful. Mears engine blows. Ganassi's promising race is a disaster! |
