Retromobile Paris 1-5 February 2012

One of the best old car shows is Retromobile.
Suggest that if anyone wants a decent trip ,with reduced value of Euro, it's worthwhile.

smokystove should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Planning on being there on either the Saturday or Sunday.

My first time, any tips what to see (or what to avoid for that matter)?

Disappointed I won't make it before the Bonham's Sale is over, so no chance to gawk dreamy-eyed at the Amilcar C6...

Interesting to note that the buyer will also be responsible for EU import taxes on the C6 after emptying his/her wallet. Yikes.

Avoid the sit down restaurant in the show itself, it's very expensive, chaotic and you'll be lucky to get served.

I don't know if I've ever been to a restaurant in Paris that doesn't fit that description!

Never mind Terry, you should come to Techno Classica Essen (21-25 March). Quite simply the biggest & best classic car show anywhere.

It's closer to the Nurburgring too...

Just back and really enjoyed it.

Can understand why it's highly recommended by our JR, lots of Pre War represented, some real, some perhaps questionable, but all lovely to see in the metal, they were mostly my favorite displays of the show.

Couldn't resist this snap, assuming to have been tongue in cheek but then again one never knows these days.
