Hello 10 Tenths Motorsport Forum.

I wanted to let you know that VERSUS, the network that celebrates real competition, is the exclusive cable home of the IndyCar® Series.

This year, VERSUS has announced details for extensive additional race programming in 2009, which will accompany the network’s live race telecasts. The network is dedicating more than 130 hours of IndyCar Series coverage throughout the season. This includes a minimum of seven hours each week the network airs a race, the most ever during a race week. The programming will include four hour-long specials in March, additional programming in May surrounding the Indianapolis 500 and three-hour programming blocks on Mondays each race week that will feature flag-to-flag coverage of Firestone Indy Lights events and encores of IndyCar Series races. All IndyCar series telecasts will be produced and available in HD.

Hello Versus Spambot. On the off-chance it isn't a bot, and that a Versus representative might look back here once, I would like to know if TSN in Canada (or any channel in Canada other than Versus [can you get Versus here?]) is going to be broadcasting the Versus feed. Beyond this, are there any channels or networks anywhere in the world that are going to be given the rights to broadcast your coverage of Indycar?

Suffice to say, this wonderful new Versus arrangement, seemingly, has removed coverage of 12 races of the season to great swaths of people the world over. You can take it for granted that many don't see this new deal as so super fantastic.

I know that Sky Sports are showing live coverage here in the UK, presumably using the Versus feed.

ESPN-on-ABC is covering 5 of the races. Are you not going to get some form of ESPN cover on those weekends?

There will be a qualifying show (sometimes live, sometimes tape-delayed) every saturday before a sunday race. Don't know the plan for the saturday night races.

I was wondering whether I would be watching it online or TSN. Looks like online somwhere is the answer.

Doesn't TSN just fill you with pride to be a Canadian citizen? They really make you feel valued. Apparently we are only worth second-rate service. Actually, make that closer to third-rate?

The thing is TSN is the major Canadian sport's network which is basically available to all. There isn't really any other option outside of satellite packages. Given this position in the market, they provide a terrible service.

Day and night compared to the ESPN coverage, or anything the IRL / CC has had in the past five years. Good job Versus. Thanks.

They need to have these qualifying shows live, not taped. It would make them much more exciting. I cant wait hours to see how the qualifications went down just so I can watch it on Versus.

Well, I see that the race is being shown live on TSN2. That's good. Unless I missed it when checking yesterday, this was not listed as the case then. I don't expect them to prioritise the IRL over NASCAR on TSN1, so them having it live on TSN2 is fine from my POV.

When I combine this with the quite unexpectedly low number of ads on today's F1 coverage (with them adding side-by-side to it, too!), well, I hand it to you TSN. This weekend you have quite exceeded my expectations.

That was the best Indycar coverage in years. Bob Jenkins and Jan Beekhus, and yes, even Jack Arute are the voices of the good ole days before the split! Now we just need to get rid if the ulgy cars... It was live on TSN2 and in HD, 2 big positives for those of us in Canada.
