GT4 Sprint merges with GT2, GT3 to form a new Bronze only 40 min race with the GTWC America branding to play on the on World Challenge ideas. Unfortunately World Challenge was about building your own car not buying off the shelf.

Could they have kept GTS where teams built their own cars and never gone the GT4 route? Maybe, but GT4 seems to be the much better option. GTS at Houston had 19 cars. GT4 SprintX is consistently in the low to mid 20s. What I am surprised by is that the SRO hasn't done more to reduce costs for GT3 teams - go to 60 minute races to reduce tire, refueling and crew costs, and completely differentiate from IMSA's longer format. Make your claim that GT World Challenge America is the place to come for cost effective GT3 racing where you'll win overall and go with that mindset. |

Oh no, I agree with your premise. I'm mocking the idea that a GT3/4 car is anything like the million dollar mustang and other shop built cars. The last few seasons weren't any good as cars became too much for teams to build up on their own. And Caddy killed it off joining and building insane cars no one else could compete with.

Indeed that is correct. Favorite year was the one where KPax had the McLarens and the Magnus Audi ran in the series. Forgot which one that was. But when Mike Hedlund stepped away from the KPax McLaren, the series took a nose dive after that. Got to make Mike happy if you want a good racing series.

SRO America 2021
K-Pax to Lamborghini for GTWC America in 2021!
They’ve covered their fair share of manufacturers over the years! I’m sure they will get to grips with that Lamborghini pretty quickly Edit- 2 car pro entry! |

Such a shame, that they throw a towel on Continentals, but it's understandable considering situation. Let's hope Italians will send some good drivers to help.

It looks more and more likely we'll have quite decent grid then.

Should be a neat announcement for a GT3 team coming soon with a manufacturer that hasn't raced in SRO America for a while

Would be cool if a couple of the GT America WC teams competing this year might find budget to run the 2 all IMSA GT races too. They might need the numbers this year. Especially V.I.R.
KPax is running cars eligible for IMSA now by the way. I was never a fan of them with the Bentley anyway. Plus the Audi/Lambo engine is my favorite GT3 sound. |

Wow cool to see Caldarelli in the USA a lot more this year. Impressed and shows that SRO bringing back pro was a good move. Must say that this lineup and team is exactly what a theoretical IMSA GTD-Pro squad could look like. |
