BMW will be back - says PTG boss
PTG boss Tom Milner has said BMW will be back in the ALMS, with the M3 or something similar. PTG won't be racing the 6 cylinder car as it wouldn't be competitive but they are making 6 cylinder V8's for use in the ALMS so we could see some kind of M3 back quite soon.

PTG could be back next year even without BMW. Tom Milner currently works for Panoz, what are the odds he will have this year's works 01s to play with in 2003??

I'd love to see BMW back in a big way.
But not with an M3. It's a lovely road car. But it's not what I call a sportscar. (IMHO!!). |

Exactly. Bring back the LMR. There was nothing much wrong with that. A proper sportscar. |

They could name their new GTP after a maker of very big cars that they own. (Ex-)British, I hasten to add *g*
Now wouldn't that name go well with a V12? If anybody should ask, you didn't hear it from me... |

The new Autosport seems to agree about PTG in World Challenge GT.
Of course I never believe what they say. KM |

Rolls Royce do have, if you look back far enough a good competion history. They competed in many of the long distance Rally Raids of the time. I don't know why they stopped but apart from a few special Rolls engined specials nothing for a while.

If you go back far enough you will find the Rolls Royce powered cars, boats & planes held the speed records on water land and in the air.
between 1900 & 1913ish Rolls royces competed in many events, winning the TT in 1906. and competeing in the alpine trials up to 1913. |
