Jonathon Palmer was supposed to have considered the cars to replace his current F Palmer-Audi cars in the UK and Europe but the deal was said to have been too expensive.

I hear the cost of doing a year of Formula V6 Asia by Renault (what a mouthful) will not be much higher than F BMW Asia.
For some of the graduates of F BMW Asia, like Marchy and Hanss Lin, this may actually be a good platform to move up to. It could be interesting to the European and Japanese drivers who found it hard to raise the money in their home land, too. After all it is not always the talented guys who gets the sponsors. |

Didn't James Jakes' dad buy all those cars last year and tried to get a championship going in the USA? I think Alex LLoyd and a few others were conned into parting with money for a test on the back of a free drive....

Does anyone know which teams are running cars and what the budget is likely to be.
The announcement seems to be all PR speak with very little substance. |

Hmm...not again
First those cars were supposed to go to South Africa, then to the Pan-Am V6 series, then to replace the 3000 ProSeries in Italy, then they were mentioned to be used in the Formula Palmer Audi and now this ? |

I heard budget would not be much higher than a season in F BMW Asia. |

Prizes
Formula Asia V6 by Renault just announced prizes for the top 3 teams at the end of the season:
Winner: €50,000 2nd: €30,000 3rd: €20,000 Top 3 drivers will all get free tests in World Series by Renault. I had thought it would be great for the champion to get a F1 or GP2 test. At least create some publicity for him, so he can get some sponsors to further his career. |
