I think there's something like 32 cars entered so far. Not sure of the actual list of teams yet. I'll see if I can elicit some extra info.

Just remember, when you're in first gear (down and out), remember to relax your grip when pushing the stick inwards - that way you'll be in 2nd (middle and in) and not reverse! (down and in)
The gearshift on a 2CV is probably the hardest thing to get used to See you there |

If any team needs another Driver, I'm available with a Race National A Licence.

#3 - get yourself on the www.2cvracing.org.uk forum and make yourself known to teams there. Some may be finalising last minute plans.

Cheers Chris, I'll have a look. My racing plans have gone awry this year but I've always fancied the 2CV24hr.

Definitely do it, if you can get a place with a team. There's not many people (out of all who race) who can claim they have done a 24hr race
I think there may be a few teams left who could run an extra car or might have a seat available. |

ive been to everyone of the 24 hours since theyve been at snett either as a very drunk spectator or last year an absolutley soaked marshal.
although im locked in a battle at work to change my shift for the weekend of the race i atleast hope to be down there in some capacity. hopefully in oranges even if its for a few shifts as we really struggled last year with mostly just 2 to a post. it is a great event and i hope the weather is gonna be kinder than it was to us last year. |

I took a look Chris, but there seems to be several other people already looking for a drive.

Indeed, but if there are more than one, quite often a team may be persuaded to run all of those in one car. Remember a team can be 3 or 4 drivers. If there are 3 or 4 drivers looking for a drive, someone may be persuaded to get their car out, or bring another one along.

Yes, Mike Lindup from Level 42. He's a seasoned 2CV racer
We also have Carl Breeze competing this year I believe. Glenn Burtenshaw is the Legends World Champion, but again, he's been doing 2CVs in the Racehire.com car for years now, in between doing rather well in Legends, obviously Edd Straw returns to round-the-clock 2CV racing again this year. He of Autosport fame. He's in the Fine Print car, same as Carl Breeze. The rest of the drivers are rather more infamous than famous |

Do many people camp over for this event? Haven't been to Le Mans for a couple of years and me and a mate thought it might be a laugh to camp over for this, get extremely drunk and watch some racing. It's this or Britcar.
Big party atmosphere like Le Mans? You know the kinda thing - getting drunk and blowing things up. |

Chris - Do you have a full entry list that you can post? I'm driving with Trevor Williams, so just interested to see who I'm up against!

Well, I could copy+paste, but to be honest, It's better to check out this link:
http://www.2cvracing.org.uk/forum/in...ic,1190.0.html Full details, and "Panas' predictions" GentleFoot - the atmosphere is usually brilliant. Probably not as extravagant as LeMans, as there's usually not quite so many people there, but there's usually something going on at all hours, and there's better access to the paddock - most teams are up for a chat at any point |

Crikey - the prediction for the team I'm in is rather optimistic....(Crisis)...the top secret line up includes two who have never driven 2CV's before!! Me and a Club F3 driver...methinks he may find the 2CV somewhat of a slower car!
I'm starting to get nervous!! James |

Although the looking initially fantastic (until i realised my search had brought up Norfolk USA!) the weather is not looking great for the weekend.
Saturday Light rain for most of the day Sunrise 05:25 (BST) Sunset 20:34 (BST) High 20°C Low 15°C Sunday Heavy rain all day. Sunrise 05:27 (BST) Sunset 20:32 (BST) High 21°C Low 16°C Horrific momories of marshaling the Revett in near horizonal rain and spray last year at 2 in the morning. Better bring many pairs of spare clothes and wets!! Lets hope for a sudden change... |

If the picture message I got from Chris last night is anything to go by there's already a small lake forming in the paddock.
I didn't mind the rain so much last year, it was the gale force winds that went with them. Still, all part of the fun |
