Nice pictures!
What camera did you use to take them? |

I love the Pizzonia picture - captures the kerb-hopping nature of that corner excellently.

I can't post all the pictures here so I updated my site with a lot more.
I use a Nikon D2H with a 80-400 lens. |

Great pictures Olivier!
Looking through the pictures on the site it struck me how distinctive the cars are this year, particularly the Sauber and Jordan. In recent years , I think I'd have struggled to tell the cars apart absent the colour schemes. I suppose this is a consequence of this season's rule changes, the teams heading in different directions before concensus on the best aerodynamic approach to the new regs emerges. |

awesome pictures - can practically see the individual specks of dust on the cars.
BTW - is B&H still sponsoring jordan? i'd never noticed that before. |

Those pictures are crazy!
It must be a pretty speccy camera & some very fast film (I believe that's roughly the correct terminology). |

I was wondering, have the pictures been cropped or are they as it? Not being very good with the camera, I would think that capturing images of F1 cars going at speeds like that up close would be very very difficult.

When cars are going that fast, you have to deal with good metering and high shutter speed. |

Where abouts were you standing when you took the MS shot? I ask because I am tempted to go next year.
In regards to the question about cars travelling quickly....they aren't to difficult to photograph but if you can get it right...the result looks quite good. Taken in Valencia earlier this year. Alex |

The MS one was taken just before the Pouhon corner. I was jusy standing on the hill and said wow, this is a nice place and ... here is the result. Your link seems broken. Last edited by Adam43; 18 Sep 2005 at 08:45. Reason: removed duplicate picture. |

Forgive me for all the questions but what length lense are you using and I guess they are all taken from public viewing areas?

I only used a 80-400 lens during that week-end. All shots taken from public area (bronze): - Brussels corner - Pouhon - Bus stop chicane (holes in the fence for photographers) Olivier |

Beautiful pictures Oliviers and co!
I'm looking into photography as a hobby. I have a pretty good eye for a photo, but lack the equipment. Any recommended cameras? I know I'll have to pay ridiculous amounts for a camera. I spoke to a guy at Silverstone who paid four grand for his.....and he was just a normal spectator. God knows what Schlegelmilch and co pay. |

Usually the pro's do not pay much for their camera's (ever noticed that in the opening photo pages in F1 racing the camera brand is listed?) as the companies like to have them seen to be being used by pro's, and they either give them out for free, or with a very decent discount.
Depending on your budget, either a Nikon or Canon SLR digital camera with a range of quality lens, the good thing with the lens form those companies is that they are compatible with all of their camera bodies, meaning that you could start with a Nikon D100 (top of the semi pro range) and learn from it, and then, when you want to go the next step, you can just buy a camera body from the pro range. |
