'RLM' radio station

This was posted by 'hindy' on the DSC forum. I just thought some of you may be interested in the Sky Digital radio station that was mentioned a few weeks back.

BTW with Hard Disc recorders and there like, does this mean we can theorectically record all 24 hours of RLM in digital quality sound, then burn them to DVD? :rotate

'Just an early reminder that Marino and I will be shouting at pictures - well I will, Marino will be making his usual informed comments - from Spa next weekend live on Motors TV

Also can I announce that our
"love cars, love sport, love music" radio station is up and running now on Sky channel 907. Coming to web soon...

At the moment running a somewhat eclectic mix of music ( I have a broad taste - what can I say!) and news but the intention is to have live commentary and coverage of motorsport and other sporting events.

We'll be at the Wales Rally GB for the 'official' launch and I'm in the process of negotiation with ALMS and LMES so fingers crossed.'

That's good news, is 'Hindy' branching out on his own?

Does this mean that Globecast are going to move 'cos that's whose there at the moment?

Schrink 24 hours of broadcast onto 3.7 Gig of MP3

Go ahead if you can, but I'd prefer to listen to it there and then, maybe an occasional fragment to keep but the rest I'd rather watch on video(-dvd)

Guys just to clarify.. the channel I'm talking about is GlobeCast ch 907. The plan is to be broadcasting live from various events either taking the 'event feed' as per RLM and ALMS or by putting in a bespoke service. Also we will be featuring daily automotive industry news, car and bike tests, accessory reviews etc. However probably of interest to you guys will be the live chat shows featuring your views and questons to motoring and motorsport guests...

We are still trawling for sponsors/advertisers but at least we have the station running now and all the hardware is in place....

I'm in the process of putting together the programming from Wales rally GB...watch this space.

see you on the tv sunday....Marino is away in the USA testing the Panoz he is driving at Petit so Robin liddell is joining me instead.

Apparentlly a website, with streaming audio, will be set up very soon.

At last it seems the Internet, Digital TV/Radio services are all merging into one, to provide unparralled sportscar coverage!

What we need is long DVD highlights available wedded to the RLM commentary like we used to have with Sportseen between 1987 and 1995. We need "added-on" commentary like a hole in the head.......

I real hope this radio stations takes off, as the idea is fantastic.
I will be tuning in once the online streaming starts as I don't have Sky. So, John is there any chance of it popping up on Telewest?

'We'll be at the Wales Rally GB for the 'official' launch and I'm in the process of negotiation with ALMS and LMES so fingers crossed.'

Will the LMES commentary be via a new Radio LMES service, ala Radio ALMS, or would you take the feed direct from Motors TV. I assume some of the 'chat' shows will be in co-operation with Motors TV.

Whatever happens, it will hopefully mean our friends across the pond will be able to listen to LMES commentary live on the Internet!

not only across the pond, many of us here in the old continent don't have acess to motors, so this radio would really be a good thing.

It was a stupid decision to stop WRC Radio because it was a great way to follow a rally.

yeah, the new technologies like live timing are a great help, but they are too sterile without a good radio feed.

There's a survey, see this topic.

BTW I am right WRC Radio has no links with Radio LM.
