You’re right, I hadn’t thought of that. I just thought it interesting to see the eras unfold. We all know why and what happened to make these things change.

His career was short and they only had 11-12 races a season for the majority of his career. You should be surprised.

Strangely enough, more Grand Prix per season equates to "win inflation" - see Rosberg. But to get even close to this list requires immense ability.

To add a little more to the discussion.
The chart did not come out quite as planned, but includes all multiple world champions. I have added Mansell as he has the most wins as a single champion and Moss because he is still the driver with the most wins and did not become champion. Some of the win and podium percentages make interesting reading. Fangio comes out on top in terms of wins and podiums per start. Hamilton is on top for those stats in the modern era by a good margin.
