Are Teams Smart or What!
I ran across this Flash Animation abou thow the teams cheat and found it very enlightening. I'm sure this goes on but I would really like to know how often it was really implemented. I found it pretty interesting how smart these teams can be when it comes to "bending the rules." I don't know if I would call it breaking the rules, just a little bending. hehehe )http://www.msnbc.com/modules/sports/...html&0dm=s2EIs

Ellis, another good post! thanks for sharing this. I don't think NASCAR is different from any other series, in most rule books there are a lot of grey areas that the teams try to exploit. Competition is so tough that only a fool wouldn't try and push the envelope now and then.
NASCAR has had a strong history of people willing to "over engineer" a car, the legendary Smokey Yunick's 7/8 scale Chevelle comes to mind as does Jeff Gordon's T-Rex car, it was legal but they were told never to bring it to the track again |

I don't believe the high tech way to drop debris from the car. Most drivers just toss the debris out of the window when they need a caution. Remember that one race where some debris mysteriously seem to come from Jimmy Spencer's car on a reply? I think it was last year or the year before.

Earnhart (the dead one) tossed some padding from his roll bar out of his window to get a yellow. It worked ,but, we all saw it on the replay.
