change of contracts?
The nhl has a really good system for making sure the bottom teams don't always stay ****ty. Every year, the crappiest team gets 1st draft, ie, first pick of the best. 2nd team gets 2nd draft and so on. Teams also make deals where for exemple, the atlanta thrashers (last) will give a few of their first picks to say the avalanches (1) for a few good players.
Could f1 do something of that sort? The nhl also i think have salary caps to ensure smaller teams can buy good players. |

Those teams own the arenas in the city and it means $$$$ for those cities/teams. The F1 teams don't own the tracks and as long as the tracks keep making good gate there's no need for that kind of leveling.

Actually this would be easy to emulate. It is a matter of how Bernie divies up the TV money. 1 (ONE) point in the championship at the end of a seaon equals $10 M or something like that. If people wanted to even things up we would just give more of the TV money to the poorer teams based on performance.
It will never happen but it could be done. |
