The fastest lap-encouraging for BAR
1 D. Coulthard 1:28.272
2 J. Montoya 1:28.114 3 K. Räikkönen 1:27.724 4 M. Schumacher 1:27.759 5 J. Trulli 1:28.638 6 H. Frentzen 1:29.096 7 F. Alonso 1:28.170 8 R. Schumacher 1:28.617 9 J. Villeneuve 1:28.770 10 J. Button 1:28.600 11 J. Verstappen 1:31.785 When I was watching the race, BAR did't look like running in the same speed as top teams as they were dropping the positions, but Button's fastest lap was actually faster than Frenctzen, trulli, and even Ralf. They pretty messed up with tyre choice and bad pit strategy, but I think the gap between them and top teams was narrowed, and it is encouraging as they were even not using the latest spec engine. |

While I agree that that is surprising, what is more surprising is the person in 11th
