Congrats V8SCTV!!
I'm one of the first to slag some of the crap telecasting of the V8's we've had over the last couple of years, So I figured fair is fair and I'll give V8SCTV their due's.
The new stuff from QLD were great. Some of the new onboard camera angles were very good and the Super Slo Mo stuff that got shown was absolutley fantastic. I loved the super slo mo of the Richard's Skaife incident and Rick Kelly getting wide and spittiny up dirt and sparks on the exit to one of the turns. |

When they first showed the super slow mo I thought it was going to be an absolute waste of time, but I thought it wasn't over used and actually showed us a few things we haven't seen before. I liked it too.

that slow mo was awesome and i hope they bring it to every round it is great showing the loads on the car and really gives meaning to the words that Cromly uses when explaining stuff.

Yeah slo mo stuff was good but cant excuse them for completely missing one the major spins of the day, let alone not even commenting on it.
Average stuff from them as its not like QLD raceway has any blindspots. |

when i first saw the slow-mo footage, I was like great what a waste of time and money, we want to see cars going fast! but the more they showed the footage the more I liked it (except when they spent ages on the Thompson spin).
Also liked the wing mirror camera on Frosty's car and was pretty disapointed they didnt go to it when he was dicing with Ingall. V8SCTV are doing a pretty good job I think. |

Guess they had to use the equipment they bought in for the tennis somewhere else to try and get their moneys worth out of it

Super slo-mo is the most overrated camera ever used. It's pretty boring really.

1 other thing like mentioned in eNews who gives a crap about a slow mo of Thompson spining yes it's good like with the bigger boys in trouble but like said in eNews the care factor of Thompsons spin is zero, yet they don't even bother with the bigger one. i know i'm being padantic and it dosn't really worry me but just a little side note.

You have got to be kidding. The standard of broadcasting is pretty average at best and this round set a new low, during race two they were not even trying. And the super slowmo added very little.

I liked the slow mos but there is no point in having the slow mo camera if the tv crew keep missing most of the crashes, spins and moments like they did at Queensland Raceway the other weekend.

Agree with you Atomic, also they were very, very slow in getting replays of incidents they missed! At one stage we were watching yet another wheel being changed while the commentators described a battle for a pointy-end position - are we watching motor racing or motor pitstops?

Well, over here in Scotland we only get 45 minute highlights which have to be recorded cos they are on at rediculous times in the morning..
We get the Channel 7 coverage I think, and I thought it was good, but then again, I cant compare it to anything else. We also only got one 'extreme' slow mo replay, so it wasnt over used. |
