and now a pot for Dave Brand

No I haven't swapped him. I'd just like to congratulate him on being awarded the BRSCC NW John Ellison trophy i.e Marshal of the Year award.

Congratulations Dave,

Althought I'm not surprised that you are such a highly thought of IO - you must have loads of experience on dealing with incidents as your presence seems to cause drivers to crash/roll in the most unlikely places.

Have you made any plans to come up to Knockhill again this year to see how many FF we can get in the gravel trap in one lap?

Dave,
I'm really well chuffed for you matey.
In the eight-or-so years I've known you, you have come a long way with this Marshalling thing and I think you've actually got the hang of it now (Flagging excepted!!)
I've had the pleasure of your company on post a good few times and, whilst you still continue to posess magnetic forces, am increasingly confident in your ability to motivate, educate and entertain us all on post.
Long may it continue. Well done Dave!

(Note to Nadine - Please Don't put him on post with me when Fiats are out......I have to write too much!!)

OK, now the dust has settled, can I just say that nobody was more surprised than me - I thought you had to have DONE something to get these awards!

Sorry, Gillian, Knockhill looks unlikely this year - of course, you could always come & play with our FFs! Try a meeting at Anglesey - we'll show you REAL rain!

Getting the hang of it? I've just learnt to conceal my bewilderment - calmness & lethargy appear very similar!

..and, gravel monkey, guess who you'll be partnered with next time I get the two of you on post...

Thanks, everybody, for the kind remarks - can we now resume normal service?

Congratulations are also due to Di Ankers, who won the Lady Marshal of the Year award,& to Ian (Diz) Smith, who won the achievers' award...two worthy winners.

Congratulations Dave, is your award in the shape of a pie? and did your arrival at the dinner dance result in an enormous pile up in the usually quiet car park?
