From the powernights website it appears that the June and July events have been cancelled and they are hoping to have a powernights festival on the 21 August.

Well I suggest I will be at the 21st of August one, when they decide on the location!

Thanks

All the Powernight meetings this year are due to be held at Silverstone.

I think the poor crowd attendence at the last powernights was due to it being a school day the following day.

I'm inclinded to agree that the timing of the May event probably didn't help matters. Also, there did seem to be less promotion of the May event within Northamptonshire, compared to the two Silverstone events last year.

Im really confused with Motion Works, they expect a huge turn out but in local souuroundings and towns you hear nothing...
They should start advertising a little more really, like I know people at my college who would love to go! So why dont they get some posters out to schools/colleges? I would be quite happy to give some stuff to my college and get it advertised etc...
Or..... Advertise in regional/local papers e.g. Leicester Mercury!
So really if they want big turn outs they need to arrange the dates around school terms, in summer holidays.
But to be honest around my aera Leicester/Loughborough I have not see a slight peice of advertising! (Donnington Event last year I heard nothing when the circuit is around the corner!)

But back on the subject I was looking foward to the evening meets!
But will see you all in august!1

Bringing the start time forward to 5.30 made it impossible for any one working beyond Towcester or Brackley to get there in time. If spectators knew they were going to miss or two races were they going to consider paying the full enrty cost? I doubt it.

Although I went to all of the Silverstone powernights and enjoyed the racing I do not belive they were in the best interest of motorsport.

The grids were thin as well - only 9 Formula Fords, doesn't inspire

Perhaps they should have had races for "open" single seaters with other non slicks and wings cars as well as FF1600.
Although I am led to believe the FF boys would not take part if it had been an open race. Instead of 9 FF1600 we could have had 15 vee's a few Lotus juniors and even some of the classic racing cars out. FF1600 was not going to work alone once the Silverstone school cars were sold.

Such a shame because I loved it last year. A friend from work went to the recent one too and said it was brilliant, she was on a week off though, agree that it would be a push for anyone working

Shame, I enjoyed the May meeting (even if it was a bit lonely) & the first time in months I was actually warm while marshaling!

I'd booked the day off to do the June meeting but looks like I'll have to work after all
