GLOCKDOG
Did anyone else notice Timo glocks helmet sat on the front of his car once the race was stopped? He had the back of it facing the front of the car and i seriously could not believe me eyes ( i had to pause the TV to check ). A proffesional racing driver, whom i regard (ed) as a very decent prospect for the future actually had GLOCKDOG painted onto his helmet in 'bling bling' gold. What a muppet! Am i the only one who thinks this guy should be given just a bit of a rev up about it?
My only saving thought is that there is some kind of rational for it. I mean at the end of the day one can put what ever they want on their helmet. But GLOCKDOG? the guy has to be having a laugh. Either way it provided me with a good 5 mins of rolling around on the floor ****ting myself laughing! |

Timo has had GlockDog on his helmet since his GP2 days at least. I'm sure I've seen a picture when he was GP2 champion with it on. I believe there is some kind of meaning to it, an inside joke of some sort.

Not sure if I'm missing some hidden and profane meaning of Glockdog. Perhaps I'm just a bit nieve, but it seems perfectly ok to me...
Anyway, found this on theautochannel.com, in an article about Mr Glock... "......Formula 1 is more complex than a driver simply sitting behind the wheel and letting his talent do the talking; much more work is required to compete at the top – and that suits Timo the “terrier”. “Timo is a track animal I would say,” say Dieter Gass, Chief Engineer Race and Test for Panasonic Toyota Racing. “Really he is somebody who is very motivated and very target orientated. I like to compare him to a terrier because when he gets his teeth into something he will not let go before he has achieved what he wants.” Timo’s helmet even includes the ‘Glock dog’ motif, chosen to symbolise commitment and determination; attributes he has shown in good measure since joining Panasonic Toyota Racing." |

Yes, all drivers should follow Hamilton and leave all aspects of personality behind them prior to their teenage years, and become bland (lying) PR machines.
Or we could have some decent drivers with a hint of individualism about them, little inside jokes, character etc. All we really need is them stubbing out cigarettes before attempting to claim pole position... |

How does a logo on one's helmet equate to personality?

At least he's got some personality of his own, even if it's not exactly endearing.

I judge his personality from what I hear of him and what he says and he has always seemed a decent guy to be fair.

well his last name is a favorite of west coast rappers and OGs,
so it fits... anyway, i liked it. Is it any different to "iceman" on his helmet? apart from the fact you found the gothic font objectionable? |

But I'm torn in that I don't like the stuff mentioned, but I also don't like it when drivers change helmets for the teams (Brawn, and Irvines Jaguar) |
