Truluyer LM 2009 crash video
I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this yet but apparently someone was able to catch Truluyer's massive crash from Le Mans this year. I still find it puzzling how he was able to be going fast enough through that area to have that kind of crash. Anyway here's the video.

Crikey!
I woke up about half an hour after this had happened and walked up to the S/F for sunrise. None of the commentators had a clue what had happened to him. Huge crash. Good find! |

In that area of the track the LMP1 cars were probably doing about 150mph-and the car probably flipped when something dug into the ground when he went off-99% of the time, something causes these cars to flip other than just getting sideways.

But when I got there and saw the wreckage, I breathed a sigh of relief: the tub was fine. |

That was certainly a biggie. I was up in T34 when it happened and from the lack of any significant information about Benoit's condition on RLM, I certainly feared the worst. Does anyone have any idea what really did happen?

I actually saw it happen right in front of me, I think I've posted details on another thread. I was getting a bit sleepy and was thinking about heading back to the campsite but seeing that woke me up alright!!

I always try to get up to watch the sunrise and this year awoke and headed from tent a tertre rouge towards the dunlop bridge the accident had just happened and everything was quite so I knew something had occurred, was listening to RLM but headed towards the start line and away from the accident, the video made me glad that I did not head for the scene as like everyone else i would have ended up watching the wreckage waiting for expected bad news. Instead watch the sun rise as the pace cars and a growing train of cars passed by slowly every few minutes.

I think the only peeople that can really tell you that are the Pescarolo telemetary team and Benoit himself.
My guess is he hit a bump, and the air goes underneath and the car leaps like a salmon just like every other LMP once they loose their balance. |

Is that still all we have, nearly 6 months after the race?

Benoit seems to have an awful habit of having his biggies off camera, remember when he split his F Nippon in two at Suzuka.
