PDF Blue Book?

Hello Ladies and Gents

Is there anywhere where the blue book is available on the 'net (I don't have any involvement with the MSA, be it driving marshalling or so on, I'm just a curious fan- It seems like this is the most logical place to put this even though it isn't really a marshalling issue)? Google is spewing up the usual guff that it does when you put words as common as blue and book in the same query

It's available on the MSA website, in pdf form, once one has registered

Either the site's crap, I need to go to the optician or there is no place to register (I don't have a licence number, I am a "curious fan") ...

EDIT : OK, those quote tags were a bit silly.

If you click on 'Login request' on the side menu another box entitled 'Member Sign-Up' will open. However, you do need some form ao MSA membership.

The easy answer - get involved. New marshals are always welcome!

For some reason the MSA like to keep the blue book a big secret until you have joined the ranks as a marshal (even then you can only get it online and do not get sent a copy) or you have paid them lots of money to get a licence, then they will send you copy.

Its not all that exciting anyway...but it does have some uses...especially as Sec of the meeting when you can start quoting regulation numbers at people to get them off your back.

Its not as simple as that either...the book is split into sections and each of the sections is a separate pdf file...VERY annoying.

It's quite easy to join the sections together if you've got the original PDFs though!

I was getting an 'incorrect date of birth' message when I tried to register. My date of birth wasn't on the MSA's database, so of course the correct date I was entering didn't match.

If you phone the MSA & explain your problem they will sort it for you.

Bump!

If anyone has a copy of the 2010 Blue Book in one PDF file, could you please let me know? I know it's all on the MSA website, but it's in 39 different files. My copy of last year's Blue Book was in a single PDF, but I can't remember where/who I got it from

Thanks.

Last year's Blue Book was on the MSA's website as a single PDF.

I've got all the separate files and will attempt to join them together into one PDF tomorrow when I get to work, we have some Adobe software that says it can do joining together of multiple PDFs.

If you can't get it to work then let me know as I've got the full Acrobat Professional install on my computer and have it already combined.

The only problem I can see is whether the MSA will let us 'redistribute' their document as it's copyrighted.

Right, I had a few minutes spare this evening, so I've downloaded and combined the chapters into one 7mb file.

The only question I have before I consider uploading/mailing/linking to it is whether I'm okay to do this or not?

The MSA know where I live after all!!!

Success! Acrobat Capture did it for me. I now have a 7.6 MB combined PDF.

I got a copy on the MSA DVD (I have an officials' license, so get the Blue Book/DVD). Interestingly my copy is 17Mb, not the 7Mb quoted by others.

It's just down to the levels of compression & resolution that are applied for different uses.

Some of the posters I produce for printing to A0 are 100mb files, but the web version for viewing is only 4mb.
