South Downs Stages - Goodwood 06/02/10

For the sixth time Southsea Motor Club and Bognor Regis Motor Club are delighted to welcome rally competitors back to the beautiful and historic venue of Goodwood, and, for the fourth year running, we are indebted to Towncross Engineering who have agreed to sponsor the event again.
This year we also welcome Highbury College as a partner to the event.
This year we hope to include a TR7 V8 challenge within the rally and to this end will reserve up to ten entries for entrants of this type of car.
It is therefore all the more important to secure an early entry to ensure a run on the day. Please could any potential entrant of a TR7 V8 contact either:- Phil Collings on 023 9232 5868 /info@southdownsstages.co.uk or Mark Collings on 023 9266 6309 / markcollings205@hotmail.combefore completing their entry.
The rally remains a 'stand alone' non-championship event to preserve the good natured feel of the day and general enjoyment.
If you are one of our previous competitors we welcome you and your friends back and if not, come and pit your skills against your fellow competitors at a venue which offers a good mixture of both tight and fast open sections.
We wish everyone involved with the event an enjoyable day and hope you will be back for more.
Regs on line at the web address below.
Other benefits include undercover service bays, free entry for spectators, permanent toilets & food outlets.

Thanks for posting this as I wasn't aware that there were any rallies run at Goodwood!

Silly question but, based on the pictures on the site, is it just classic rally cars only?

You can enter anything as long as it gets passed by the Goodwood/Council noise limit.
As it's a fun event as opposed to a championship round it tends to attract classic cars.
Entry list filling fast!!

What is the noise limit? Most events we do are 100db so I guess it's around that sort of level?

That's about right, some people get over on the drive by as that is computerised but we direct traffic away from that side of the circuit where the meters are, and chicanes placed so your not on it as you pass them.
See you there this year?

We've got Longmoor just after Christmas, we'll see how things are once we've done that.

Great, thanks for the reply!

This is only a short drive from me, so its got to be worth popping down to watch, classic cars or otherwise!

How are you doing for marshals? It's just around the corner from me (well, about six or seven corners really!) so I may well be able to pop up and stick a tabard on if you're short.

We've entered Longmoor, as BertMk2 mentions above, but also just entered Goodwood as well - thought that it looks different to other events we've done. No classic car for us I'm afraid, sorry! [It's an Endurance spec Rover 214....]

One of two Endurance Rovers now then, there was a Corsa last year as well, done both.
If your looking for fun then Goodwood is the place.
See you at both I will come into service at SDS but not sure on what time we have at Longmoor.
Have a good one.
