Steve Milward should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
AMOC Oulton Park 6th August

Has anyone received tickets yet, I'm presuming the answer is yes and Royal Mail have lived up to their reputation.

Therefore if anyone can help with a spare please PM me or let me know the Chief Marshals details

Many thanks

A few more details from the AMOC website..

Oulton Excitement for AMOC Runners

The picturesque Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire hosts the next Aston Martin Owners Club race meeting on Saturday August 6th, a busy and exciting day of racing on the cards with all the usual AMOC highlights as well as two guest races from other series in the seven race programme. The AMOC Pre 60, Pre 66 and Intermarque series all have 40-minute races, with the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of Great Britian racers having a 90-minute event.

The AMOC Pre 66 runners start off the race schedule at 12.20, with a compulsory pitstop seeing driver changes of the solo runners pitting. The usual wide spread of classic sportscars is on the cards, with entries ranging from Simon Crompton’s AC Cobra to the DB4 GT shared by David Garrett and Peter Thornton.

First race after lunch is the GT4 Challenge enduro, with a strong field as the series returns to the UK circuit after the previous round at Spa-Francorchamps. Two pitstops are likely for each team, some squads running three drivers, and cars to watch for should include the Stratton-run GT4 of Chris Kemp and Stuart Hall which won at Donington in June, and the Nicholas Mee Racing car of Karsten le Blanc, Christiaen Van Lanschot and Dan De Zille which took the win at Snetterton earlier in the season.

The AMOC Pre-60 race hosts a wide age range of cars, with Keith Piper’s 1932 Aston Martin International the oldest current entrant, up against other classic Astons such as Anne and David Reed’s DB2 and the Garrett and Thornton DB4 GT – out for another run.

The usual quality mix of cars features in the AMOC Intermarque event, pace-setters and multiple race winners Jackie Cochrane and Jonathan Fildes heading the entries in their rapid red Sunbeam Tiger. A truly cosmopolitan mix of marques should make the race a highlight of the afternoon, Aston Martin honour upheld by a brace of DB4 Lightweights run by duo Nicholas King and Anthony Worthington and solo runner Jean-Pierre Frottier, and the N24 of Jeremy Bailey. Others to watch for include the Porsches of Stephen Archer and Mike Johnson and the Ferrari F355 of Wayne Marrs.

The 15-minute Pre-War Team Challenge will be a visual delight with the youngest car in the field over 75-years-old, and the Christian Pederson Austin 7 Special dating fro the 1920s. Piper is out once more in his Aston Martin International, heading a fleet of Aston Martins and Lagondas taking on the three Austins.

Two Ferrari races are on the bill, the Ferrari Formula Classic series and the Ferrari Open. Both raced with AMOC at Silverstone at the start of the year, and the new F458s in particular should make the Open race a closely fought event.

Can anyone tell me what size grids this meeting produced?

I am considering going to the AMOC Brands meeting on Bank Holiday weekend but AMOC seems a shadow of its former self and I dont want to waste a day watching poor grids.

Thanks for your help.

Sad how much this wonderful racing has declined, however a good opportunity to spend time doing something else.
Thanks ascarracinguk for the heads up.

I was on the Avenue for AMOC and enjoyed the day. Admittedly some of the grids were small but overall the standard of racing was good. I've always enjoyed the AMOC day so don't see why people are so negative about it. Marshals are still needed to run the meeting so why stay away?

As a complete fan of AMOC, I'm really sorry to say that this meet will be my last AMOC meet, it really seemed a total waste of a Saturday off work.
small grids, no real racing , just seemed to be a line going round and around...
yet the two highlights to the day and both came in the pre war race..
watching car 31 (looks like an upside down bath tub.. sorry if it's yours) gave it all and was a pleasure watching you, and the second was car 47 the driver said thank you to us on the slow down lap..

but thank you to the organisers a super run meeting as usual it really is a shame the grid sizes and the racing has declined..
