Chris Hobson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Private and exclusive - volunteers needed

June 2nd 2013 – Aston Martin returns to Aston Hill.

Aston Martin are to celebrate their 100th anniversary with a closed road event on Aston Hill (Aston Clinton, near Aylesbury. 300 cars will assemble for runs up the hill. There will be no public spectating and entry will be strictly controlled.

I have been asked to Clerk the event in exactly the same manner as Kop Hill (which is on September 21, 22). The event will be run as if it were a normal hillclimb. I need marshals to man the paddock, start, posts on the hill and the top paddock. If you would like to volunteer, or want more info, please drop me an e-mail to bmmc.chair@marshals.co.uk

I would've done that but my diary says Trucks at Thruxton, which I can't miss. Especially after running on to a 'live track' last year!

Even if it was only to check Darren didn't get squashed by the stray truck!

Folks,

It is with great regret I have to inform you that Aston Martin have decided to postpone the Aston Hillclimb until later in the year. I heard the news after I had done an inspection of the hill and planned the marshalling posts etc.!

I have been told they want more time to publicise the event to their VIPs and are now looking for a September date – probably September 8th. As and when I get more information I will let everyone know.

In the meantime may I say “Thank You” for volunteering your services and hope you find other marshalling duties on June 2nd instead.

Can I also remind you all that Kop Hill is definitely on – September 21/22. We already have over 300 requests for entries – all with paid entrance fees. We are hoping to get the Napier Railton again from Brooklands – and we have been informed it is now ROAD REGISTERED and may run up the hill! Unfortunately we cannot get the Spitfire flypast this year………………..instead we have the full Battle of Britain flight – Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster on the Sunday – please start praying for good weather!

If you would like to volunteer for Kop Hill just drop me an e-mail. I hope to welcome many of you to the event.

Once again my apologies for the postponement of the Aston event – as they say “due to circumstances beyond our control!”
