10 Best ALMS races

Before TUSC begins officially, I thought we ought to have a thread for everyone's list of the 10 best ALMS races in series history.

Here's mine:
1: Petit Le Mans 2013- Falkenstein's Awesome underdog win. Plus, I was there!

2: Road America 2012- Closest P1 finish ever. Also a race I attended.

3: Sebring 2007- Lizard Porsche vs. Risi Ferrari!

4: Mid-Ohio 2011- Falken's rain win!

5: Laguna Seca 2005- Excellent GT1 battle between the Vettes, Astons and the #63 Saleen.

6: Sebring 2013- Corvette's comeback to win after early electrical and collision issues.

7: Lime Rock 2006- Close finish between one of the Astons and the #3 Vette.

8: Laguna Seca 2009- It was a lousy finish for a Vette fan like me, but at the same time an awesome race.

9: Petit Le Mans 2010- Last lap fuel issues for the Risi Ferrari results in win for Corvette!

10: Sebring 2012- AF Corse #51 tries to take out race leading #56 BMW at the end, but AF Corse #71 spins and #56 BMW wins anyway.

Honorable mention goes to Road America 2013. The race wasn't great, but I was there, and enjoyed it anyway!

The Happy Track Fan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1. Road Atlanta - Petit Le Mans - 2008 - McNish and Audi come back from starting 2 laps down to beat Peugeot, Porsche and Acura in an amazing race. Lucky to be there in person.

2. Road America 2012 - Fantastic race and unbelievable finish. Was there in person for this one as well.

3. Mosport - 2008 - Maybe the best sports car race ever held at the historic Canadian venue. So many different teams and manufacturers had a shot at winning overall. Crushing heart break for De Ferran's team and nice win for Audi. Also there in person for this one.

4. Sebring - 2008 - Porsche slays the Audi and Peugeot dragons and wins overall. Fantastic win for Porsche and Penske. Also fortunate to be there in person for this one.

5. Washington - 2002 - Very good one off street circuit and a super victory for the Panoz over Audi. Brabs and Mags were terrific in this one.

6. Sebring 2006 - GT2 victory for Brabs, Maxwell and SeaBass in the Panoz Esperante GT.

7. Sebring 2007 - Ferrari beats Porsche in GT2 epic battle.

8. Road Atlanta 1999- Petit Le Mans - Panoz Roadster takes overall win after BMW ends up in the gravel trap on 2nd to last lap in Esses.

9. Mosport (tie)- 2004 and 2005- Weaver and Leitzinger in Dyson Lola AER beat Lehto and Werner in Champion Audi both years in epic overall victories - both of which went green - wire-to-wire. Lucky to be there in person for both.

10. Road America - 2010 - How could you not love the ending to this race!!! Wow. Amazing stuff.

I've got the Hot Wheels 1/64 scale Panoz that was produced of the winning car. Definitely a legendary race.

Also special mention was the Viper - corvette battle at Mosport in 2000 with the Viper (Beretta/Wendlinger) edging out the Vette (Fellows/Pilgrim). Great race. Also, agree with all of the above. It is hard to pick just 10, but really loved the Falcon Porsche wins and the Risi Ferrari - Flying Lizards Porsche finish at Sebring!

Bob Riebe User has been fined for unsportsmanlike behaviour!
Road America 2003

Close GT finish with Ferrari over Chevrolet.

A race that had all the makings of past RA races that made the track the legend it is.
