Brands Hatch Training Day

I know that there was an email sent re training at Brands Hatch on the 15th and 16th Feb which I binned as I was working. Due to a rota change I'm now available to attend so who is the contact to get myself booked onto this?

must be cheap whisky - you're correct

What I want to hear in advance is if there is a first aid/FMOS module. (or not)
I know of at least 3 good marshals that have been extremely annoyed to find their progression to experienced grade blocked due to a lack of this.
This would allow marshals to plan which training day would be right for them.

I too am aware of the problems this has caused and following a conversation last weekend I believe the missing piece is being planned for.

I hear today that an FMOS module may be held at Snetterton in January.

That's a long treck from Tunbridge Wells, especially if the BRSCC Training Day at Brands a couple of weeks later will include FMOS training and signature.

I have the same request: we need confirmation that an FMOS session will be included at Brands Hatch on Feb 15/16.

There will definitely be a First Aid module suitable for PRC/upgrading signature at the Thruxton (and other BARC) training days this year (as every year).

So who is responsible for creating and delivering the BARC FMOS training module?

It's not FMOS, it's First Aid.

It is reviewed each year and updated as necessary before the training days by members of the BARC medical team. The training is delivered by a professional first aid trainer and / or Paramedic.

Why do you ask?

This could go on for ages......

I have already said that after a conversation last weekend I believe a suitable session is being planned for the training at Brands Hatch.

To be honest it really shouldn't be this difficult - after all "basic (first) aid" was a part of the training requirements for Experienced even before the introduction of the modular approach and the creation (or not) of FMOS and the need for a specific signature ....... it is just that some training days for whatever reason haven't included the topic.

I would suggest waiting for the mailshot for the BH training day and see what it says and then ask the specific question about first aid/FMOS. ...... or if you can't wait you could try contacting the organising club contact which is listed on the ViM website

I don't mind what this missing piece is called.

If Brands Hatch is going to run a suitable upgrade module in February that's fine. Let's hear about it.

It look like there WILL be a suitable module at Brands this year according to the email received from Mildred yesterday. Lets hope it is as it says and allows those of us looking to upgrade the required signature.
