2014 WTCC Race of France - Paul Ricard - Round 2
Kinda unusual to start a new thread so early when emotions are high after the first round. Official preview here: http://d1oo2un3qpiryo.cloudfront.net...et_preview.pdf
Of course it will be another Citroen walkover, but I expect Honda to be stronger because the track has more corners. BTW, some great marketing by Honda with the "Race to Race" https://www.facebook.com/HondaRacingWtcc. Really hope Tarquini will be present. Pity there'll be no Coronel.. |

Yep a fully orchestrated 1,2,3 in both races for Citroen, only thing to hope for is that Lopez will upset Muller and Loeb again.

Coronel will be present in Paul Ricard, but behind the microphone instead of a steeringwheel. He'll be co-hosting next to Martin Haven.

Will this be the first race to be missed by Coronel since the championship returned into a world championship?

The field is definitely closer, and that's great. (though it's free practice only, of course). But even now it seems that Citroen has got advantage on fast, power circuits (just like Chevrolet did previously)

And now... tomorrow's set to be a thriller! Loeb & Lopez DQ due to fuel cut-off safety issues. I'm not really against Citroen, but a bit pleased. That what you get when playing...eerm..a bit unfair

the only thing this does is to give Muller chance to recover lost ground to his team mates
I bet it will end in a Citroen 1-2-3 providing there are no accidents |

Absolutely brilliant defensive driving from Tarquini, a bit dissapointed he made a mistake in the chicane, could have kept Loeb behind. But the real hero of the race was Huff - tells about the class of the driver

Great weekend! Good thing Citroens were allowed to fight with each other. Good drive by Lopez. Too bad safety car came out, as it stole the potential real fight between Monteiro-Lopez-Muller for the victory. Honda is closer though. BTW, it seems that Chevys are awful in rain conditions (courtesy of Race 1)
So now, I guess Citroen will have +40kg at Hungaroring while others will be at -20kg. Will it tighten the fight? Hopefully |

And now López showed us all the calibre of driver he is. How bad F1 never got a chance for him. But is not late to award him with an one-off racing presence there.

before judge lopez i wanna wait this first year!!
anyway actually the advantage of performance that citroen has, it doesnt allow to give an opinion about real value of Lopez but also about Loeb. it's to easy win races with a car 1 second faster of the others!! in past i saw champions like Muller or Tarquini fight for the title with a car that was not the best or beside it was at the same level of the others. |
