A Newbie's View

I spent a very enjoyable day on Post 14 at Croft yesterday. A 'taster' day organised for me through Dave Lea and DDMC. Thanks go to Simon and his team for making me very welcome and giving me lots of info.

As a racer myself ('50s Sports Racers, '60s GTs) it was hugely informative and reinforced my view that it should be compulsory for all holders of a race licence to spend at least a day on the bank.

And having now experienced how tricky it is I will never again get grumpy if the blue flags aren't perfect!

I also noted that c.80% of drivers are courteous enough to give a wave on the slowing down lap. Is that about the normal proportion?

A big thanks from me to all the marshals at Croft who give up their time.
I was testing on Friday with my old Blue thing. only 2nd time out and I am still very much learning the car.

I spun a few times but thankfully managed to recover myself..

Hopefully didn't deposit too much kitty litter for cleaning.

All the marshals and circuit staff do a fantastic job and we would be nowhere without them

Although we weren't at this particular event, many thanks for your kind words and good wishes.

You drivers say that you couldn't do it without the marshals. Us marshals say that we would have nothing to do without you drivers!

I had my 1st trip to Croft in June 2007 to the BTCC meeting. Ended up on post 7(Crossing). Really enjoy my visit to Croft but unfortunately of late, they have been very few and far between
