HSCC Cadwell Park

so who is going ?

I am taking some of my weirder stuff

Whitfill in F3 500s
Mitter in FE Juniors

Brabham BT2 in CRC

challenging track, really in the middle of nowhere

really akward to get to for me as a fly in commuter

puzzled to find out that its almost the same distance from Manchester or Heathrow

I haven't raced there for years and never got on terms there with Jag saloons so I'm going to venture out for the first time in a single seater and see how that goes......pray for me...... or perhaps for the others

It's a shame this meeting clashes with Formula E at Battersea, see you all at Snetterton and Brands.

Rudolf,

Which airports can you get to easily in the UK?

I would think the drive from Manchester might be more of a challenge than from Heathrow. On the other hand maybe not on a Friday ...

Can you get to Birmingham or East Midlands? (Where do you land if heading for Donington?)

I have not checked the distance or route but the Robin Hood Airport might be another option if you have any flights available to head to it.

Or just turn up at Brands Hatch and ask Dr. Palmer if he can take you there in his helicopter.

we've entered the Autosport FJ, but like Iain we have Sweden first but no Monza boohoo :0( have had to scratch as still no int licence.

and not taking the Revis 500 - still fixing the massive amount damage sustained in round one - beginning to dislike Silverstone!

Birmingham used to be an option
but too many flights scratched
but will look again, next time

I need an airport with direct service form Hamburg, no stoppover as that loses too much time in relation to the distance saved on the ground in the UK, and several flights per day, especially a very late Friday outbound, and a very early one back Monday morning to maximise time on the office

in the end only Heathrow and Manchester fill this bill

back to the racing...
I have not raced at Cadwell since 2006, travelling aside, I was not ready for the that circuit at that time, scared me a bit
now I am really looking forward to it

and a will camp, properly in a tent...
back to basics, once a year
refreshing that is

I always go to Luton (EasyJet) and drive - not too far. Once when I went to race at Cadwell I got a lift back in a Gulfstream with another FJ driver - I think we must have flown out of Humberside - had dinner at home in Monaco! But I must say I prefer the traditional way of travelling, much more relaxed.
I will be in the HF3 race.

People say, although I find it hard to accept as a workable reality, that it is possible to get cheap deals on private jet usage - so long as you want to go somewhere where the jet is flying empty to collect its next full fee fare.

Still, if EasyJet is good enough for Kate Moss it must be OK for the rest of us, right?

I wonder if she gets a discount for all of the publicity she creates?

The trouble is, as with so many of the lesser used routes, the time of day is not great and does not really allow travel at the end of work day inbound or to arrive early in a work day outbound.

Even a "1 stop in the middle of the journey" route does not help much and adds the potential for missed connections.

Clearly a private flight is the only answer ....

Colin - an FF2000 round Cadwell is a blast. You'll love it! Plus... You'll have the entertainment factor of Iain in a 500.

Last time I was there we had 3 S-types out together, unlikely to ever happen again, and I had one of the most memorable races in my short career, pipping one of the others on the last corner and taking the class win by a couple of hundredths. There aren't too many places for big saloons to overtake so I'm sure a tiddling FF2000 will be a piece of cake Alan!!! Nothing to it

Does the paddock plan allow you to drift between the two?
