4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring
No thread, so this poor excuse for a thread will do! ELMS artwork is kinda cool nowadays. PSA: ACO still can't do countdown to race times correctly. Whoever made the ELMS site and YT page doesn't understand time zones. YouTube is an hour early, the website just uses your local time zone and applies it to the race...which isn't how time zones work. Use the countdown timer here: Timing Race Stream: tRL TV | YouTube (Pages will be live before the race) Live Timing: tRL | Official Le Mans Cup Race: tRL TV | YouTube LM Cup race started in the wet and had some good action. Even if you don't normally watch LM Cup, I'd give this one a try. Was good fun. |

Series is rarely a let down these days. Interesting how far back APR qualified given Menezes was at the wheel.

It wouldn't be an ACO race without Eduardo shouting at the drivers about gaps on the formation lap.

Just a tidbit: did anyone notice that all of the top 6 qualifying drivers are French?
Quite unusual in an international field. |

France is producing some very good LMP drivers recently.
Good race this. Worth watching the #26 G-Drive, #35 SMP and maybe DragonSpeed if Hedman keeps it on the lead lap. |

Hedman just had a drive-through penalty
EDIT: And has just been lapped by the #35 SMP car. Last edited by gert; 22 Jul 2018 at 11:00. |

Yeah and he's lost a lap due to that, shame.

Lots of team are using this FCY to switch drivers. Comes in handy if their silver driver's time is up now (Petit, Hedman, ...)

SMP pitted too late under the FCY. They'll lose time when it goes green.
Edit: Those mistakes moves G-Drive into 4th, drops AVF and SMP out of contention. Tightens up the title race. |

Well, that move was all very odd and silly. Suspect the 30 will be penalised for that, but that takes the 28 IDEC out of contention for the win.

It depends a bit who was overtaking who? Was the 30 with 2 wheels on the grass trying to unlap himself from 28? Or was 30 lapped by 28 and half-pushed on the grass?
Team manager of 28 is summoned to the stewards. |

The YMR car in the gravel effectively ends the Norma challenge as only Ligiers left at the front. The mechanic of the #16 was amusing. Pulling out a random bit of metal, then staring at it trying to work out where it came from and what's broken. |

Matter of time until the #2 United LMP3 stops due lack of some sort of fluid.

Not sure the rain is heavy enough. There's nothing at the top of the circuit and the cloud looks dark but relatively small.
G-Drive now on the leaders, with JEV still to go. I'd put money on a G-Drive win. |

I wouldn't count out Racing Engineering with Nato now and Pla still to come.
Depends on Olivier's form though... |
