It also happens to be the 100th anniversary of Le Mans next year, so should be a bit special.

I thought I would update you on latest news.
I have just been sent the calendar for 2023 and what a fantastic set of meetings we have, 6 meetings, all composed of 15 minutes qualifying and 2 x 20 minute races.

We have races on the Brands Hatch and the Silverstone GP circuits as well as visits to Donington Park, Snetterton, the Croft Historic Festival and rounding off back at Silverstone for the finals meeting at the end of the season.


This shows the support the HSCC are giving the series and is testament to everyone who has competed this year or has shown interest and has pledged to come and compete with us next year. We have a great springboard here to develop the series into another of the HSCC’s Historic Racing Portfolio.

Sat 24th – Sun 25th Jun Donington Park

Interesting about Spa, wonder why?

They give an explanation in the link but in broad detail they seem worried about entry levels due to carnet confusion and the fact that several people have had issues / fines this summer (albeit at none CSCC meetings)

To save going to the link, CSCC say,
“Since June, two things have changed our view on racing at Spa in 2023, firstly we have received first-hand accounts of some members being stopped at French customs, when travelling to or from non-CSCC events. These 'could' be isolated cases, but it could indicate a change of guidance at the border. In one recent case, a CSCC member was fined and immediately returned to the UK, despite the race car being road-registered and with applicable paperwork. The second hurdle is that the border is likely to see the introduction of Biometric passport checks, in May 2023 and potential extra delays”.

They are planning to be back in 2024 when things are clearer.

I suspect the running of the races over in the States at the end of the year could also impinge pretty heavily on some people's budgets, so putting Spa at risk.


As a northerner I quite like the proposed programme - all I need to do now is work out how I could get myself back on the track.
