Now that Michelin is coming back next year, Max had a meeting with the 2 camps telling them if there is a tyre war and speeds increase he will put another groove in the tyres. That would make 5.

Now do you think bridgestone or michelin are going to go out there and build a slow tyre? hell no.

What will happen is that they'll put so many grooves in the tyres that they will be back on slicks again

I would have thought that now would be the ideal time (much as I hate to say it) to introduce that fifth groove...

It would mean level ground for both tyre manufacturers, instead of Michelin being an 'also ran'.
