Mackmot should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
70s Croft film

Where can I find film of F1, F2 and F5000 races at croft from the 70s. My dad has been after some for a while and I would like to get it as a present for him.

Cheers in advance

Wayne

I don't know of any that exist. The only chance I would say would be to contact the local TV station who would have probably covered the major meetings for a small news clip in the monday early evening local news 'sport' round up. In my region, Anglia, these were usually only a minute long (if that) of major meetings at Snett.
I have all three of the 1970s Castrol BRSCC end of season films but no coverage from Croft.

No F1,F2 or F5000 race ever took place at Croft. I think an F2 race was was once scheduled but cancelled. I have only ever been there once for a F3 international in 1970. If your father recalls some he may be thinking of the odd old car taking part in Libre races. I don't think any Croft meetings were televised until the recent TOCA & F3/GT packages.

Yes it is the libre races that he wants cos they had all sorts of cool cars enter.

Id just like to add saloons as well to my list.

Men and Motors did a series of programmes of racing through the sixties and early seventies - they're actually great as they're originals and they were put together in the kind of "moviereel" style with a posh announcer and everything.

I can't remember if any of them featured Croft, but I think one of them did.

The Men and Motors films are actually the Castrol films that you can buy on video entitled 'Motor Racing 60s style'
There are 3 of them plus another for 1970/71 but they do not feature Croft. You can get these tapes though at all good racing video outlets.
