Dale Jarrett finished 15th, and moves up 1 spot in the points to 11th, 277 down from Sterling Marlin.
Matt Kenseth finished 39th, drops 3 spots to 8th, 178 down from Sterling Marlin. Jeff Gordon finished 37th, staying in 3rd, and is now 82 down from Sterling Marlin. Jimmie Johnson finished 35th, drops 2 spots to 4th, 86 down from Sterling Marlin. |

Anyways, I didn't ask where they are in the point standings, nor did I ask about Matt & JJ. I just wanted to see the finishing postions of DJ & Jeff from the two chaps that decided to make light of the fact that Dale didn't make a qualifying run on Friday after he blew an engine in practice & decided to go to work on the race set-up right away. Seems to have paid off with all the rear ends & engines that were blown in yesterday's race. Wanted to see ya guys eat a little crow...lol. Last edited by Lars; 24 Jun 2002 at 17:18. |

Now Lars, don't be upset with us. You know that we was just pickin on you because we pick on each other all the time. Can't be breaking tradition, now can we? Besides, Crow ain't bad if it's cooked right. Tastes like Chicken... Yummmy!
Gordon and Johnson both had 2054 points prior to Sears Point, which technically tied them for 2nd in the points race, 110 points behind Marlin, but Johnson was listed as 2nd because of his wins. And Stan, I know you think the gold car is bad luck, but strictly from a paint scheme point of view, I like that one better than the silver one. There's just something about gold cars, ya know? They just look better. |

I've always liked the silver car since they first introduced it, JMO.

Jeff did lead the most laps(32),I think the rear end gears were supplied by Ricky Rudd's team, just kidding How abt Mark Martin charging to 2nd in point standings just -62 points back?S.Marlin was very lucky to finish 43rd & get out of there with the points lead 4 now, don't believe it will last 4 long tho,IMO! |
