Audi and the STCC - what is the latest?

I hear that Audi and KMS may enter the STCC in 2003. What is the latest news? Any speculation?

Latest news is that KMS is still waiting for Audi Germany to make a decision. Team owner Tommy Kristoffersson is positive about the deal, and so am I.

It seems odd if Audi races in the STCC, but not the ETCC though? I thought Audi has move upscale and that VW/Seat was now going to replace Audi in motorsports.

KMS are building 2 Audi A4's (new shape) for the 2003 STCC, and may still run one Audi in the ETCC

While I really don't care if the car will be a Works entry or not (as long as another S2000 makes the grid, I will be happy!!), it seems odd that Audi would race only in the STCC and not the ETCC as well? Or could Audi be using the STCC as a testing ground for a future ETCC team? When will Audi Germany announce their official for KMS? Or does Audi's support go only as far as providing for some bodyshells and parts?
