BTCC entry list
http://content-you-control.co.uk/am0...icle_163.shtml
The list is on the above link, noticable absentees the CMS Ford Focus in the production class and only one BMW for Edenbridge so looks like they couldn't fill the seat in time for the first race. In the BTC class, just TBA's for VLR no cars or drivers mentioned. Pyper is entered in one GA Astra with a TBA for the 2nd car. |

Good to see Pyper in an Astra anyway. A lot of people said VLR would unveil their plans today, obviously they didn't but I think we could see them run the 406's for a few races until some 307's are finished.

It is stunning. There are some very nice pictures here: http://f1wgp3l.m4driving.sm/peter/ph...2003/media-day
The Astra kind of reminds me of the Toyota of 95 or maybe the Vectra back in 1997. Nice to see a change though, which I think has made the Vauxhall team look far more trendy. Paul O'Neill's pictures in there and I was thinking for a moment he had made a late switch to Honda... |

The Production list is lookign very empty, it's a shame that Simon has no funding for the Edenbridge. I hope GA and VLR can take to the Touring Class with two cars. Touringlegend's theory about VLR seems accurate, I'm sure they are having trouble getting the funding and expertise to complete the cars to an acceptable standard. Any guesses on the VLR driving lineup?

The CMS Focus should hopefully be out later in the year. Edenbridge still have the second car and as I recall were a driver short at the media day last year so anything is possible.
VLR are announcing cars, sponsors, drivers, etc next week. |

Just been looking at the pic's over on the TOCA Tour site, Boradman Pug looks good. I love the MG livery (see they are still sponsered by Hot Wheels) and I am not sure about the Vauxhall Livery.
As for the times, nice to see the MG's on Top......... |

Most of the cars looked very good in the flesh. It was great to hear them out there again after a long winter too. VLR hope to confirm details of their entry on Friday.

the Vauxhall's looked great - love the silver. Just a pity they never thought about the rest of the team gear as well...
Matt's overalls just about touched his ankles, whereas Paul's comment on his was 'I can go balls out round the corner at Thruxton' as the crotch was round his knees and Matt Neal will never get the right garage. The vauxhall and Honda gear is so alike that Thommo was talking to an Honda engineer thinking he was a Vauxhall boy.... comment from Mike Nicholson - it will be sorted!!! Nick Leason WILL be out at Silverstone at the latest. |

Only one driver outside GBR? That sure don't look good for "outsiders". What happened to Toni R. Ruokonen's British efforts? I thought he didn't do that bad... Is it that just British drivers "sell cars"?

Alan Morrison, and James Kaye, will they be starting the season?

I would guess so. Don't see why not, there's enough Civics hopping about..

Morrison had car problems so didn't get out on track.
Kaye and Synchro weren't at Brands. The team usual miss the media day or put in a limited appearance due to the problems of getting enough team members out of work on a weekday. |

David Leslie is very confident that the Proton will give the other works cars a run for their money. Reliability is also an issue. Yvan Muller refused to speculate on his chances until after the first race. Gavin Pyper likes the Astra better than the Alfa 156.

So soes this mean that Triple Eight are no more and they've commited in the very long term to Vauxhall? Also does anyonknow when they'll be launching a website as both vxracing.co.uk and vxracing.com have both been registered!

I don't know what the deal with it being called VX Racing is. Latest rumour down here is that Triple 8 were interested in purchasing TWR Australia for V8Supercar racing (Holden Racing Team, Kmart Racing and Team Brock).
Maybe they have changed their name to VX Racing to coincide with VX Commodore |

I think VX Racing is a new sport brand Vauxhall have launched to promote some sporty new models. Performance models in the Vauxhall range used to carry the VX pre-fix, like the VX 490 and the current VX 220.
As far as I aware 888 is still 888. |

The Team clothing still had 888 on it. VX Racing is just a replacement for Vauxhall Motorsport and 888 ran the team then.

Triple Eight are the company that run the team, their name hasn't changed. Same with West Surrey Racing who run MG Sport & Racing, Arena International who run Honda Racing, etc etc.
VX Racing is just the name the team are entered under. |
