SPOONERBORO should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Team Varta Looking Good!!!

Hooray start of a new season!!!

And it has to be said doesnt John Batchelor's team look in good fettle!!

Nicely painted trucks!! (yes 2), professional looking pit garage, and two on the limit drivers and cars, with what appeared two very competitive sets of mechanics!!

Jim did a good job in the old Honda, and Tom was so damn unlucky not to win race 1

Are we going to see a fantastic revival from the crazy man, and see a win at Brands for one of Ten-Tenths best supported outfits!! (will our curse be lifted)

the cars looked very smart in the silver, and the "old" honda is obviosly very reliable and also has a reliable driver.

They looked great out there and were also very nice to the marshals! But is it my imagination is is Mr. Edwards somewhat.....tactile?

Apart from the Accord tendency to shed its rear bumper at every oppurtunity. Autosport reports that another 307 will be ready for Edwards at Thruxton, and, money permitting, they'll run the Accord as a 3rd car (for Breese presumably).

Nice one!

Congratulations to Team Varta on a great result! Shame I couldn't make it over there...

Shame also for Tom but on the evidence of Mondello I'd say a win isn't far away for that Pug. This team is going places!

Excellent news on the third car I thought that the production class seemed to be a bit thin but know with this news and hopefully CMS, things are looking good.

no that was in the first race. in the second race he only made it to the end of the pit lane on the green flag lap then he had to get pushed off the circuit.

Peter, are you still linked with this team for a possible return to the BTCC in the future?

CC is correct - I don't think you'll be seeing Pete back in a Team Varta car. Certainly not in the short term anyway.

Because they have a new reserve driver this year - his name is Hyla Breese. I would certainly imagine that he would be the one to step into one of the Pugs should either Tom or Jimmy need to be temporarily replaced for any reason.

In any case I think Pete has decided to stick to endurance racing this season - but maybe you could ask him about his exact plans yourself?

New car troubles. Including Macau that car should have six finishes to its name. Instead it has none.

Let's hope that changes at Thruxton when Jimmy will be running a Pug too.

I think the team need to do a wee bit of testing between now and then and then they can make an informed decision on the matter. However these gremlins are to be expected with new cars and the only way to overcome them is to press on and look to the future. The 307 is the future and the team need to raise their game and overcome the problems.

Following on from the above post, the 307 will be out at Pembrey tomorrow (Monday). I think a decision on Jimmy's mount for Thruxton will be made after that.
